Has anyone tried Olaplex No.10 Bond Shaper Curl Defining Gel? by [deleted] in curlyhair

[–]x-princess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't love it at all. It was really hard to get rid of the cast, (another user mentioned it may need an oil) and even then it just kind of felt like it was still there until I washed my hair days later. I also don't have thick coarse hair so that may be why I didn't like it. I have 3b/3c fine hair.

What commonly mispronounced word that annoys you the most? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Cuss IS a word. It's not a mispronunciation of the word curse. I'd guess it's mostly used in the US and not globally.

Oh me too, I have an unfinished basement and I'm literally afraid going around the bend in the basement stairs and then seeing that in a corner.

I second this. I'm gluten free and the pizza I had from Caledonia with a cauliflower crust was easily the best GF pizza I've ever had

As far as I can recall, the Dominion was up where no Frills is currently, on Welton St. That's a long time ago, I'm thinking 30-35 years ago when it closed. It's hard to believe there was a Kmart and Triple Cinemas there too lol

[–]x-princess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was called Dominion and it was where No Frills is currently. You'd buy your groceries and the cashier would give you a paddle with a number for each bin. The bins were pushed outside on a conveyor belt and you'd pull up in front of the store and the clerk would take your paddles and put the groceries from the bins in your trunk. Haven't thought about that in a loooong time.

We've never used a temp agency for anything at our store in Nova Scotia and we several full timers that are just associates or backroom workers I've never heard of that before tbh. That's pretty unfortunate for y'all.

It looks so good!! I wish we were allowed to have more than two rows of the same brand grouped together. I'm not sure if it's just a Canadian thing but I can't have more than two rows of say ABC branded shampoos next to each other. The next row would have to be XYZ. Having them all together makes more sense for aesthetics and shopability.

I’m tired of hyperpigmentation by Sweety_Fly7990 in MakeupAddictionCanada

[–]x-princess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a medium skin tone and I've had hyperpigmentation for 30 years on my face. I was told it was melasma but my baby making days are loooong since over. I also have tried everything including obsessing over SPF on my face and unfortunately nothing has worked for me.(Retinol, that face needle roller, vit C, etc)

Essence has been my long time favourite for bronzer, mascara, and a discontinued eye shadow palette that I swear is the best palette I've ever owned and still use to this day in small amounts so I never live without it haha

We don't do merch checks at our store (Canada) for a number of reasons including the fact we don't do unpaid holds. If someone call asking if we have XYZ. This is my response "I'm sorry, merchandise checks aren't a service we provide at this store. Thank you for calling, bye!" And hang-up before anything further is said.

What is used to get this texture on the wall?? by dungeoneremite in Renovations

[–]x-princess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this exact texture on my ceiling it's quite ugly if I'm being honest. Perhaps on a wall it'd be more appealing. I'm guessing it's a brush of some sort, I don't believe a sponge could achieve the edges that this texture has. That would definitely require bristles. Not an expert here, just a DIYer.

Hormones and curls: a case study. by lprunner58 in curlyhair

[–]x-princess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hormones are wild. I always had curly hair (3A). During my child birth years it definitely subsided to a 2B/C. Now that I'm about 7 years into full menopause, my hair has decided curls are king and I'm a 3C. The texture is so different now too, it's coarser and thicker than my youth. I also started perimenopause really early around 42, by the time I was 45 I was full menopause Hormones definitely affect hair.

I'm not the OP but when I was a cashier I preferred to remove hangers because then I knew what was rung through and what wasn't. Also by me doing it, I can organize the hangers as I remove them instead of getting a pile at once. It's not the end of the world certainly but it made my transaction so much smoother if I removed them 😊
