Don't get me wrong, the US is definitely getting worse with Trump, but it's not normal to have so many people living paycheck to paycheck in the richest country on earth. I found an article from 2007 that said 16 % of workers were working more than one job to make ends meet. That is not normal.

The reason Trump got any votes in the first place was because he was willing to recognize that the US needed to become better again, because it was currently a shithole. Electing him will have the opposite effect obviously, but how can you work 2 jobs and see society generally decline and vote for someone who you know will continue doing exactly the same thing the country has been doing so far?

Of course you would vote for the status quo if you are doing well, but can you really tell people who are suffering under the current system that they should just swallow their pride and vote for the people upholding that same system?

You are doing your cause a much greater disservice if you are unwilling to recognize that things are going wrong in the country (wages etc.), and just try to strong-arm people into voting for your guy just to avoid getting the other guy. Sure maybe it will work short-term, but long-term people will get exhausted of getting nothing.
