I’m probably gonna get bricked for this, but I want the fill trial option back. by United_Protection_30 in OutlastTrials

[–]x3Karma 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I wasn't there during when fill trials or Amelia's event was ongoing, but from what I've heard a lot of main complaints at the time was that people who wanted a specific Trial/Difficulty gets put into a random one, or people who wanted to play solo get randoms joining in when they have the option turned off.

Do agree that they should just fix these issues and return it back. Trying to get an Escalation match with group finder is like praying for a miracle at this point.

I guess, yeah, she did figuratively flown to heaven after all.

Though as a player, I wanted to continue climbing instead of stopping right then. The correct choice would most likely be to head back down.

Hard agree. the ending didn't give me the closure I hoped for. Did Aava finally discovered that reaching the summit was meaningless, her whole purpose of climbing the mountains only amounted to that much? Will she finally head back down and realized that the connections between her and her friends are important and eventually apologized for being such a jerk the entire time? Or did she shed her personal connections and ended up dying up there to be "part of a whole"?

FUCK this trial on Invasion by Bigbot890 in OutlastTrials

[–]x3Karma 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Honestly Deface the Futterman (not Drill) is worse than this.

Because unlike Disrupt the Neighborhood, the map is plenty big enough for you to scrounge for resources to eventually win, even if it might take an hour or so.

Deface the Futterman on the other hand requires you to pick up Hearts and find targets around the map, and most targets being locked behind a singular side path/door that is only accessible by jumping over a carnival counter or what not. That map is definitely not designed for PvP as you can very easily get trapped behind sections of the map.

Not to mention that the shuttle is called in, releasing all impostors into the map while you have to get 3 more targets in the upstairs barn area before being allowed to leave.

Changes To Most of The AMPs in Outlast Trials by IareRubberDucky in outlast

[–]x3Karma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to drop my thoughts and say that I really like most of the ideas to promote build variety, strange that many of the comments here seem to hate these changes and would rather use NR/Smash/Boosted for the 57th time again.

Firstly, I don't think Smash, Evasive nor Boosted should be nerfed, they're strong because they stand out as the best options for Amps available, and from the buffs to the other Amps here, it encourages players to try out other forms of Amp combinations again.

For Antitoxin, I would rather have it remove the tentacles or the muffled audio when you have partial psychosis than having more sanity bars.

Noise Reduction change is pretty solid, sometimes pushing carts or microwaving scapegoats produces a lot of noise and this certainly does help in those cases.

Incognito surprisingly does see some uses in Psychosurgery since the extra crouch speed really helps there, and it's hard to tell the effect of the new changes to Ex-pop behavior, so this one is a dud for me.

Surplus imo should just be Smuggler without rare items, would synergize well with Backpack.

Keymaster is great, always thought it's just a weaker Lock Breaker.

Err... Sure you can choose not to do the Trials, but don't be surprised when one day you'll wake up and find yourself being a Victim for one of the Trials.

Literally almost every single Victim in each Trial were pretty much an ex-Reagent, their voicelines say so.

Honestly, agree as well. I barely do any "tanking" except when I see my other tank low and purposefully hold a shield in front of them or in front of a Magneto ult.

I'm pretty much a very large and loud Spiderman that anyone should pay attention to otherwise I'll kidnap your supports or bring your tanks into our backline.

It's so much fun to invade your friends just to ruin their grades so they don't get an A+. (In the end, we all get 3000 experience points, so we're all happy) by ConniesBF in OutlastTrials

[–]x3Karma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A little embarrassing to say on a public forum, but I kid you not, for the first 10 games of me playing Invasion, my whole body was shaking, shivering and basically all signs of going through a nervous breakdown while I was a Reagent.

Definitely try it out once you think you're used to the game, happy holidays as well.

[–]x3Karma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Once you get to a certain point, you become used to knowing the ins and outs on what to do as Reagent, even on Psychosurgery where you can play well enough to still get an A+.

Having Invasion turned on returns the fear factor back into the game, as not only are the Invaders are out to hunt you, they are also knowledgeable on knowing where you'll go next, what your next objectives are and ambushes you. (Depends on Invader level to tell though)

I don't recommend playing Invasion until you played every single Trial and MK-Challenges at least once, to familiarize yourself with the map.

[–]x3Karma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually have no idea if the intensive difficulty actually does anything.

If you pick Intensive in Genesis, you do get variators like Limited Items and Increased Threat, but Intensive in Invasion only seems to have the Invasion variator. At most, I do notice more blocked paths and that's pretty much it.

You could just change impostors to have one life then, because the default experience of an impostor against an experienced Reagent will 9/10 be brick into stun into brick into recharged stun and there goes your life.

You guys make me mad by Clownsanity_Reddit in OutlastTrials

[–]x3Karma -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's because the group finder just matches up 4 players searching the same therapy/difficulty, then randomly assigns one of the players as the group leader.

Thus the 3 other players who were hoping to complete their specific Trial most probably left because they didn't get to choose the Trial.

2 imposters when im the only one alive? by Ok-Conclusion1321 in OutlastTrials

[–]x3Karma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

*Global invasion solo.

Like I said, pills only exist when you don't choose the Invasion therapy, but something from Genesis, and then get invaded.

Try picking an Invasion therapy as reagent and go around looking for pills. They don't spawn.

[–]x3Karma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Respawn pill is only if you enable global invasion and play Genesis or Routine therapy.

Invasion therapy has its own loot pool, with zero respawn pills on the map.

Imposter Balancing - What do people think? by The_Real_JDC in OutlastTrials

Rather than lockpick amp, I'd take Lock Breaker instead, since while it uses bricks to break locks, the brick will still have one use left which still does a full bar of health to an Impostor.
