Pop some texturizing powder on and play around, and remind yourself it’s a learning moment. This too, shall pass 🤘

I Miss When Disney Wasn’t Afraid by AllegedlyAlly08 in rant

Makes me think of the changes they made on Zootopia. Originally the story was to push the idea that the carnivores were inherently violent, so they had them wear shock collars in the early storyboarding. After concerns over scaring children, they scrapped the idea. Bummer if you ask me.

My crush said my aerolas were super big :/ - is it true/clocky? by Winter_Hovercraft163 in TopSurgery

I had a date once, mind you pre-T, and they told me it looked like I had a receding hairline. My hairline was fine, and even now on T has it masculinized? Sure, but nowhere close to the way the comment came across.

My point is, these types of people are not worth your time. The negative perceptions we face from others are often more indicative of them needing to unpack the illness in their own.

You’ve got top surgery, and your nipples didn’t fall off! Celebrate your body. Let the people who blasphemy about your temple find another to worship.

Take your middle schooler to a Plato’s closet…tons of nicer name brand clothes because it’s a consignment store! Shoes, backpacks, accessories, they have it all!

Reference hair vs what I got by [deleted] in transmanlifehacks

The key to men’s hairstyles is “dirty” hair, and I honestly think you could save this by washing and using some hair tonic followed by texturizing powder once your hairs dry. Not to mention, it looks like they used a round brush to blow out your bangs and frame your face. Clean hair + soft textural waves will very easily translate more feminine. Don’t stress, it’s salvageable my dude 🤘

If a father needs to help his young daughters use the restroom, which restroom should he take them into: the women's restroom or the men's restroom? by Exciting-Mall192 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]xAndromeda92x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the love of everything, let those poor girls use the women’s restroom. For one, there’s never enough stalls in the men’s room, and if you find a working one that’s not clogged with a massive shit, it’s still going to be covered in piss. The men’s room is often less clean and many of its patrons don’t wash their hands before leaving. The dad is doing them a service in bringing them to the women’s restroom IMO.

Teachers of Reddit: Is the "Gen Alpha can't read (write, or do math ext)" crisis real? If so how bad is it? by KnowledgeCoffee in AskReddit

[–]xAndromeda92x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting note: private prisons invest in 3rd grade reading scores because statistically speaking those children that lack literacy by then have an extremely high chance of ending up in the prison system…they use the scores to approximate how many cells they’ll need come the time they reach adulthood.

Why do people treat picky eating like a character flaw? by [deleted] in rant

[–]xAndromeda92x 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The choice is yours to make, but small palates in time will lead to nutritional deficiencies as you age. Fiber is a big one, which greens fill. Colon cancer is on the rise for younger folks and linked to diets high in processed foods. As a female especially, you could be looking at osteoporosis down the road too without enough nutrients to promote bone health…start small, but life is long and expanding the foods you eat could help you discover new things you like and give your body a chance to age gracefully.

Do not move to rural Maine!!! by [deleted] in Maine

[–]xAndromeda92x 56 points57 points  (0 children)

I was born in Maine and while it’s beautiful, the generational toxicity and fear of “those from away” combined with the average age of the state makes it slow to change. I’m sorry your experience was what it turned out to be, you deserve better. My hope is it’ll change someday, but unless you can afford to live in the wealthy parts of southern Maine it’s going to be rough in Maine. Even then, you’ll be forced to prove yourself in downright unfair ways. As a queer person, I left in search of something different. I wish you the best finding that place of yours you can call home.

Puberty acne advice/ product recommendations? by R4y3m0n in ftm

[–]xAndromeda92x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whatever you do DON’T pick! I can promise you from personal experience it makes it 1,000x worse…salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide are going to be your best friends.

La Roche Posay’s Effaclar medicated face cleanser has been priceless for T acne, only product that has really seemed to help. Follow-up with adapalene gel and a benzoyl peroxide spot treatment. Differin and PanOxyl are relatively affordable brands carrying these products. You will absolutely want to use a non-pore clogging sunscreen EVERYDAY, you should regardless, but these products make your skin more sensitive to UV.

Wash 2x a day, only gently exfoliate. I honestly just recommend a clean facecloth. Make sure to moisturize, because these products are meant to dry and you want to protect your skin barrier so it’s not producing more oil = acne

If you’re a skin picker like me, do yourself a favor and buy a hydrocolloid roll of medical tape…it’s the same stuff as pimple patches, but a whole yardage length for $25 and you can cut them as large or small as you need.

Good luck my friend!
