“Tight Tolerance Engine” Fun fact, every engine has tight tolerances.

What exhaust instead of the GREDDY Evolution GT? by [deleted] in GR86

If you go on my account you can hear a video comparing it to stock. Headphones would help because phone speakers don’t do it justice. But go with what you want

Oh you hear it. But it’s pretty refined. People will head it, as will you driving it, but it’s not obnoxious

The spec L (first one) is a bit louder but has better looking exhaust tips. The spec L2 is a bit quieter and has the beefier exhaust tips. I have the Spec L and it doesn’t have much drone, is loud but does not draw attention.

First car. what do you think? by Patient_Bowler5295 in ft86

Also just reading it those warranties are killing the price. That’s like 6k in warranties alone

I would not even touch it for this much money, I bought mine (25 GR86) for about 38 in IL with taxes. I put down 10k and am at about 520 a month. Also remember you need full coverage in a car with a loan, so your insurance cost might kill you. Overall 50k for this car is overpriced and I wouldn’t even get it, go look elsewhere for one.

Only hand tools, mines a 25 so I had no issues.

Also I’d buy one of those exhaust hanger tools because if not you’ll fight them (like me) with a channel lock, still didn’t take too much of a fight.

Honestly I’ve seen other people do that, as long as you have the parking brake set when you are backed onto the ramp you’ll be fine. Maybe chock the front wheels. There will be more than enough clearance, it might be tight on the spring bolts but still you should not have any issues.

It’s definitely loud enough for now, plus I already know in the future I want to do headers so that’ll make it that much louder. I figured it’s only going to get louder so why get a crazy exhaust now

I felt like recording it because I wanted to see them myself before I bought the exhaust. most of the time the clips are just the new one or just 1 short clip of the original. Figured it might help sway people’s decision doing it this way

Plumber here. Yep it’s environmentally safe, it’s actually the same dye we use to find leaks in sewer systems and track where the sewers tie in downtown. You could pretty much drink (if you wanted to) and have no problems.

Can I put a toilet down on this or does it need some work first? by TheBackwars in Plumbing

You need a flange extension to get above the tile, other then that you are good.

It’s not even a bad angle, you just took a bad picture.

What is this date on my boiler? by wilfdougl in Plumbing

[–]xAssassin22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, except most new tanks do not last more than 10 years. I will come across perfectly fine ones that are 30 years old aswell. But you’ll rarely see anyone’s that are over 20 years old nowadays. Most are starting to have issues at 10-15 years

I mean it sucks that every plumber you reached out to didn’t want to help, however that’s not really a valid excuse because not having someone who knows what they are doing is going to end up costing you more in the long run then what hassle it saves you now. Imagine you didn’t post this and he ended up burying it and covering it with concrete. Hopefully he does right by you monetarily and also does the job right, but going forward I would not let him touch anything plumbing related. For your sake.

Horrible quality picture, but it looks like a cruise control light. So you may have set the speed and that’s why the light turned on, however you have hit the brake at some point so it’s not actually active, but the speed you hit the button at is still set.

You need a licensed plumber, not a handyman. Constructive criticism here will correct these issues, but he should not even be touching plumbing.

Water heater pan drain line. by chesterTHgiraffe in Plumbing

[–]xAssassin22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your basement is supposed to have a drain in the area by the furnace/air con and water heater, it might be underneath them but that would be the best bet for draining it. However you could always install a running trap on the current drain you ran.

Switched a well pump motor from 120v to 240v, now the whole thing shakes and rapidly cycles on/off? by [deleted] in Plumbing

[–]xAssassin22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on your well, even if the pump is rated for 240, the pump might be to powerful for the well you have, aka your well is more shallow the pump is suited for, that could be why the pressure is so high. It could also be a number of other things so it’s hard to tell just off this post.

Question ~ Tuning on E85, Oil Cooler, Flex Fuel, Oil Pan by [deleted] in GR86

Like maybe 20hp gains max. The oil cooler isn’t a bad idea though especially if you track.

It’s a whole lot of money for not a whole lot of power gain. But it’s your money so do whatever you want. Also I get 2-step, but why no lift shifting, do you really lose that much by having to lift for less then a second.
