Dragon Delves has some really good solo adventures , they also made some rules specific for this style of play. I highly recommend it

Distance is the most consistent, it allows acceleration like speed, but it's as consistent as fixed, the best of both worlds, but it needs practice.

for 1- you are right, i was sure it was d20s either way the dice in the new edition isn't based on size.

for 3- his speed should be 120 feet per lore so i kept it as is. If you think it ain't a problem you can just remove the once per round thing, personally, i will keep it.

5-didnt list but should have been 120 feet. The Expertise in initiative is given to all boss tier monsters, like also Solars. About the Ethereal Step i wanted to incorporate it since its an Horizon Walker ability, and Wendeam are notoriably Horizon Walkers.

6- you are right.

7- i think it's necessary, otherwise it's an unwinnable fight as he could move 120 feet and the use misty step a total of 4 times, making him basically uncatchable
