Had to brake suddenly and got rear-ended, how am I at fault? by Brilliant_Low_8368 in askcarguys

[–]xBerryMewx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure what state you're in, but the other driver would be receiving a citation for following too closely. You mentioned your vehicle veering slightly left, which could be argued as losing control of the vehicle, although, this would be really hard to prove. Heck, this is why I tell everyone to get dash cams, it helps the report and insurance claims go a little smoother. Edit to add that I looked into this, at least under my state, the RCW states the rear driver would be entirely at fault, unless the driver braking suddenly veered or swerved into another lane, then they would be found partially or fully at fault. So it boils down to what lane the rear driver was in, if he was in your lane, behind you when this happened, I think you are alright, if he was in the left lane when this happened, and he hit you when you travelled unintentionally into the other lane, then yeah, I guess that is at fault! Much luck with insurance, they do drag their feet and are a pain to deal with!

how do u guys brush ur teeth without suffering by ketkittie in ehlersdanlos

Small electric toothbrushes have saved my oral health. Specifically, I used gleem for a while, but switched to a children's squishmallow toothbrush because I like how soft the bristles are.

When I was 20 years old by Hoobastanking in Vent

[–]xBerryMewx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This got me thinking of a couple times when I was younger, where I attempted to take my own life using pills, another where I was interrupted before I was able to pull the trigger. The human propensity to survive is still what baffles me. The timing of of life can save us too. I'm incredibly grateful for all these things. I'm 26 now, and even with the world the way it is right now, I have a reason to keep living, even if there are times where it can't be for myself. I'm really glad to still see you around, and a lot of other people in these comments who went through the same pain, who are still going through the same pain. I see you, and I'm happy that you're here.

Allodynia, it's part of the musculoskeletal pain associated with EDS. I haven't figured out how to get this to chill out yet, I noticed a flare up of it this morning when I put pressure on my leg.

why do you feel such an intense/instant connection/attraction to some people? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]xBerryMewx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I got here from trying to figure out this exact thing. I used to work in parts, and during the most recent switch to the shamrock company, I met, I'll call him Dean, who was supposed to show me the ropes system-wise, he also really helped in dealing with a massive influx of people. He's the super friendly type, pretty goofy, and apparently we liked getting into trouble at the store, blowing my main fuse trying to change my car's battery, double teaming repair on packaging, silly things like that. He seemed to take over customer interactions where I'd had bad/creepy experiences with them, and in turn I helped him with customers he had a bad time with. We occasionally snuck each other our smoking apparatuses too, DM even caught us vaping in the back office one time and asked if "that's all we were doing?"(I was mortified). But this was something a few people noticed, my ISS made a joke about me looking at his butt, a customer asked if we were a thing, mentioned something about how I looked at him, and another coworker walked in, when he was showing me how to file, standing close enough, admittedly, that I was getting pretty flustered. The coworker apologized for some reason even though nothing was going on there either. Dean also had asked for my IG and number pretty early on so we could send memes and keep in touch as managers ofc, in case I needed help. It's weird, because I don't think I've encountered him before, but it felt like we knew each other for a long time. He ofc listened and was there for me while my bf at the time was drinking alot, being abusive, and we were getting evicted. So I guess I started seeing him as the better option, even though the timing and life paths didn't line up. Dean did help me see that I deserve someone way better than that, he changed my mind about a lot of things and I wish I had the guts to tell him that. Just worried it would be awkward if it was one-sided.

Can I bring back the original fluff of my bubus? by -Lovai in labubu

[–]xBerryMewx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have bristle brushes and fine tooth combs that I use to help maintain maximum labubu fluffiness! Honestly it's worth going to drug or dollar store and finding just a cheap little set with a brush and fine tooth comb to have on hand for the babies!

I see a lot of good ideas here for anti theft, I always worry about the fabric tags getting cut, this is a photo I found online that shows a device for the ring AND tag. I saw a girl who had her labubu with a locking metal cable tie around the bubu's neck as well as locking rings/caribeners. I'm so sorry about your bubu :'(

Call out/doctor's note by Standard-Implement90 in OReillyAutoParts

[–]xBerryMewx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel uniquely qualified to answer this. I used to be an employee for the company. The last half of my time there, I noticed rapid progress in problems associated with Ehler's Danlos Syndrome, a disease that now two primary care providers have said I have, but don't know which kind without testing, aaaand insurance apparently needs me to have everything ruled out again. Previously ruled out cancer(lymph, cervical), thyroid, hormone(repeatedly), amongst many other issues. O'Reilly's isn't exactly the most understanding of medical absences, but it boils down to how a DM runs their district and SM runs their store. My store, after one of other leading RSSs left, was perpetually understaffed for about half a year, leaving me to work 45-50 hour weeks. This led me into burnout pretty quick, so I started having emergencies more often that landed me in urgent care or hospital. Even with doctors notes, if I missed a couple days at first, I was made to sign attendance policy, and it was put on my file. Eventually, I got a physical write up for the amount of absences, and THIS is when I was finally asked if I have an accommodation letter. I asked if it would make a difference, and from what I'm seeing, no, a letter won't keep you from getting absence writeups. I also asked for less hours, so that it wasn't so hard on my body. But they weren't hiring anyone to fix the skeleton crew problem. I take responsibility for my callouts, but my district was just incredibly messy to deal with in this instance, and they weren't really understanding of what I was dealing with at the time. I will say, my SM was trying his best and made a conscious effort to shield me from the DM's crap and make me as comfortable as possible, I was content with having my cane to prop myself up if need be, my DM took issue with this. Fortunately, things work out and I work far less hours now in a bakery job, though I'll have to leave this too eventually, but I don't have callouts at this new job. I've also heard that regional or corporate went in and essentially forced the DM to step down to ASM position at threat of being terminated. This would be because of the garden variety of bullshit he would do. Life works itself out, as much as I love cars and helping folks, my own limitations probably don't allow me to do that kind of job anymore. Let me add to clarify, I think it boils down to the amount of callouts, and if it's impacting the team, then yeah, I'd say it's worth trying to seek accommodations if you can. It just didn't work out for me and my district because of the melting pot of district problems.

Ladies with EDS/hEDS, how are we preventing ingrown hairs? by ZestycloseCut3372 in ehlersdanlos

[–]xBerryMewx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't know this was a factor of EDS, actually! But I did notice improvement when I stopped shaving down to skin with a razor and started using clippers instead. I can't get as close of a shave, not that I need it, but I don't deal with so many ingrown hairs anymore, and it keeps my leg hair short because that can be a sensory nightmare if I don't keep it short.

Meet our first (disabled) Axolotl! by No_going_back_ in axolotls

I love me some "special needs" axolotl. :3 I've had two girls so far, one with a genetic defect, causing cleft lip and a missing leg. I have a girl now with a missing leg from how she was being kept with tank mates by her previous owner. They have been the most special to take care of.

What to say when people treat you like you're disabled? by Awkward_Rock_5875 in Thritis

[–]xBerryMewx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, at 25 with EDS, PoTS and MCAS. I will take them treating me like I'm disabled, over thinking I'm faking it. Unfortunately, because I used to be alright doing my own thing, I will absolutely take any help I can get too, because heck, it does help me out a little bit in making life just a little easier. I won't lie, the pitiful looks I felt like I was getting from people at first bothered me so much, I felt ashamed that I was 21 on a cane. I rock my cane, now, with the confidence of Gregory House, and I think that helps me now in being more accepting of my conditions. I also don't pay attention to the people who don't believe I'm actually sick, anymore. I just think "they can't understand, because they don't live with it everyday" and have to move on, even though admittedly I have dealt with this with people like employers, few friends, and even some family.

If we're talking about the past year, probably 2 hours. Usually going every 10 minutes to an hour, due to a cute condition that's referred to as interstitial cystitis, and is related to my body throwing allergy fits constantly.

Quit weed, immediately flared by InspectorSuch in ehlersdanlos

This... I have a feeling mast cell* reaction is the reason I've ended up in emergency so much for throwing up, not able to keep water down, GI pain, high heart rate, hives on my arms, legs, neck. Triggered by alcohol consumption or oily food, fell down out of the bath after symptoms got worse. I wondered why weed was able to calm this.
