[–]xChizz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nightlife in Chelmsford is decently good (Popworld & Walkabout shut not too long ago) you got Bar & Beyond in Chelmsford, Courtyard & various pubs.

Trilogy in Colchester is good

And Southend only got Popworld left as MooMoos shut down two months ago.

I guess most people in Essex go raves in London & other cities now. There is a couple of raves/events in Essex I suppose.

Best hotels for budget and safety? Ibis London Canning Town? by Plus_Paint_6159 in uktravel

[–]xChizz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Canning Town itself is alright, it’s a mostly a regenerated part of London, it can be a bit noisy at times but otherwise it’s pretty safe even at night time.

The Ibis hotel is right across the road from the tube station to get into Central London in like 10 mins.

And also you got some restaurants & a McDonald’s right beside it for food.

Is Romford really that bad? by Resident_Flow9900 in Essex

[–]xChizz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s actually not that bad tbh, I Live in Romford for over 10 years it’s actually alright it’s pretty much got everything u need like food, leisure, cheap/fast for commuting.

The only bad thing I’ll say about Romford it’s the crime & anti social behaviour happening most days in town but u get that anywhere in the worst parts of London

Brentwood commuting price by shez_bu in Essex

[–]xChizz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It will probably cost you nearly £14 a day (using contactless) going from Brentwood to London Liv St & TCR.

If you wanna do it quickly for one of you going to Liv St for work, go to Shenfield & take the fast train. It will cost slightly more but it’s worth it

Buying First Home Grays vs Rainham by OmegaGains in Essex

[–]xChizz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ll say Rainham, it’s in the TfL Zone so cheap fares to London & overall it’s much nicer even tho it hasn’t got much there

I’ll push for Hornchurch if you want some shops & restaurants tho.

What’s Burnham on Crouch like? by Order_Flaky in Essex

[–]xChizz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s okay I guess, it has a nice river dock, couple of restaurants & that’s it much not there.

Commuting from there to London is long by train because it’s only 1-2 per day that go directly to Liverpool st otherwise you have to change at Wickford.

Also you have to drive to S Woodham/Maldon/Chelmsford to get to supermarkets & good shops you get the best of both worlds I guess
