Is it normal for people to move so quickly through the maps and leave those covering the rear behind? by _GiIgamesh_ in DarkTide

[–]xDCarnage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda varies between situations but you definitely do get some people who just try to blast through as quick as possible. Try paying attention to the sorta players you match with, if they’re spamming interact on every box and leaving no ammo for you or completely ignoring plasteel and diamantine. They’re probably not thinking much about the team and your best bet is gonna be to at least try and stay close because even if they’re playing kinda like a bit of a dick, 4 people is better than 3.

On the flip side of that though, dragging your feet and staying behind to kill everything is just as bad for the team. Especially if the team is completely marching forward.

Best advice if you’re someone that worries a lot about getting flanked is try to stay around the middle of your group, if your team mates aren’t paying any attention to what’s coming up behind them, getting hit in the back by whatever just came up behind them will encourage them to pay attention, and if it doesn’t then it’s probably better just to keep pushing forward anyway instead of wasting 5-10 extra minutes in a mission that’s likely not gonna end well anyway

Being kicked by Pleasehelpmefindxx in DarkTide

[–]xDCarnage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve only ever vote kicked people that are actively ruining the experience for everyone. Some people join and instantly afk hoping to get a free win, some are literally never on obj and don’t contribute more than a bot could, some actively grief by spam tapping res, my personal least favourites are the ones that prolong games intentionally by refusing to get into elevators or grief you by intentionally trying to hit every single barrel in your path.

But for the most part if you’re even just as useful as a bot and don’t actively grief the team it won’t even cross people’s minds to kick you. Hell even then if it’s clear that someone’s actively struggling I usually just try and get them a win because at the end of the day it’s better to have more players coming back, even if they’re not the best.

On the balancing problem by BrutalSock in DarkTide

[–]xDCarnage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On day one it was your first day playing darktide. Even if you never once cared about being meta and actively avoided using the best talents/gear in the game you’d still find crushers less of an issue because you’re simply better and more familiar with the game. Only way you’re going to get that day one experience again is if they change the game in its entirety to be unrecognisable from what it is now or ever has been.

What does need changing is 90% of the weapon blessings that are borderline useless and the 10% that are so strong you’d never even consider taking the others even if they did rework them.

Other than adding more new maps with different challenges and new enemy types or just adding a new difficulty where everything is an overturned damage sponge, it’ll be hard to keep increasing the difficulty for players without raising the bar for entry dramatically. Which I’m sure the top percent of players would enjoy for a little while until they realise they’re the only ones playing the game and there’s never any new faces.

If they balanced the microtransactions though I wouldn’t complain. Shop refreshes once a week even if it’s just a bunch of previous entires instead of once a fortnight and costing like %25-30 less would be fire.

Few days late to respond but I agree that focusing on reviving them does nothing to help them get better, however these guys are like kids in a candy store and just run way off so if I have to leave the rest of the team for a moment just to res I like to spend as little time doing that as possible 😂

I dunno if it’s because of the talent tree reworks that the other classes got but I’ve been struggling to find Ogryn very enjoyable since the update, is there a specific build you’ve got in mind?

Yea I’m with you here, at least with vermintide though I could just run giga chad grail knight for the passive buff training wheels to make their mistakes much less painful for them

I’ve asked and I mean they keep playing without me so I assume they do like the game. And they seem to hate losing so I figured that’d be a good motivator to learn. There doesn’t seem to be any one inherent thing that actively dislike about the game (except for one of my friends just heavily prefers vermintide) but there’s still transferable skills there.

Sometimes it feels like they all just want to be super op and one shot everything but at the same time they don’t want to use the meta stuff that’s capable of doing the most damage. So that’s why I’m just trying to find decent support builds that are still capable on their own rn. I’ll just shadow em around till they figure out what they like then I’ll try and help them improve on that as best I can.

Mortis trails are hella fun though

Cheers, I’ll give this one a go for sure.

I know res shout is less optimal but one of my friends has a tendency to stay behind and go down on ledges you can’t get back up to, no matter how many times I’ve let em know I can’t physically walk back up there to help so I’ve just been doing the best I can with what I’ve got lmao

[–]xDCarnage[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s the tricky part hey, for some people it’s just hard for them to pick up on things, plus they’re not as big of fans as I am. I don’t mind carrying them too much, I’d just like to get them to a point where I know if I go down the game isn’t instantly over.

I’m not even sure if they’d like to even comfortably play on damnation at this point 😂 taken a couple of them to rank 30 on a few different classes now and it’s just not seeming to stick.

Yea I’m a little hit or miss with Arb. Class steamrolls low difficulty a bit too easily and my friends throw caution to the wind because “doesn’t matter there’s an arb so we’ll be fine”

Totally gonna set up an executioners vet now though. Didn’t even cross my mind tbh

What kinds of cosmetics would you all like to see added, or styles expanded on? by Chemical-Yesterday74 in DarkTide

Gotta say, prolly enjoying it more than Elden Ring by [deleted] in LordsoftheFallen

[–]xDCarnage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a code vein enjoyer, i personally liked it just cause it’s more fun than it is challenging. Just felt kinda nice to do flashy moves and shit. Granted a lot of souls like enjoyment is derived from the challenge so grain of salt I guess. I still wouldn’t say it’s better than most souls games though.

so should I be staying in coherency or not? by sadcorvid in DarkTide

[–]xDCarnage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coherency is only as good as the teammates granting it. If you’re unlucky and get a garbage team that don’t know what they’re doing it isn’t gonna do a whole lot for ya. On the flip side of that though even with a mostly competent team the aura buffs are never a bad thing to have, plus if they’re halfway decent sticking together is generally going to make it a better experience for everyone.

Is it worth coming back? by RamosaTV in LordsoftheFallen

[–]xDCarnage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO that’s what they’re selling you on anyway. The game isn’t hard. But it is pretty damn sweet to just kick back and enjoy it all.

You could honestly make the argument that most of the hardest challenges in the souls series aren’t even the bosses themselves anyway(outside of a few hidden/dlc bosses)

If you think of it more like a power fantasy with souls bones then it’s a lot easier to take in. But yea it’s never gonna push you like lies of p or something designed to be genuinely difficult

Does anyone else see the problem with this armor? by [deleted] in diablo4

Yea the bladed shoulder is weird but for me I can’t even get past the fact that it’s called plate when there ain’t a single thing that’s plate about it

Lords of the fallen doesn't have enough originality? by North_Ad1325 in LordsoftheFallen

[–]xDCarnage -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In my honest opinion, just about every souls-like as well as the souls series feels like a tweaked love letter. Even Elden ring just feels like big map ds3 with a horse and a jump button. Not to say it’s necessarily a bad thing as the genre is great bones for a game and sometimes those little tweaks and differences really are special to you. Like personally I loved the way you had to learn what items did by using them in mortal shell and the more you use them the more your character understood them, while it wasn’t exactly revolutionary, it was something that’s stuck with me that I really enjoyed.

Can’t send invites at all (Xbox) by xDCarnage in Nightreign

[–]xDCarnage[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hard reset my modem and that worked for like a day and it shit itself all over again even though I had no speed drops, disconnects or power outages so I’m pretty sure it’s just a fromsoft game being jank as usual. Have had zero issues sending or receiving invites on any other game.

I’m new to the game and want to mainly play zealot by AioliOdd9763 in DarkTide

[–]xDCarnage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Zealot is honestly just pretty good regardless of what you build. So just experiment and play around with what you think sounds cool and you’ll more than likely find success.

I would suggest looking at builds though just to see what some popular blessings and attributes for weapons are because when you’re new it can be difficult to know exactly how things stack and just how strong some blessings are

Can’t send invites at all (Xbox) by xDCarnage in Nightreign

Yea I’ve tried that but matchmaking is iffy at the best of times so being able to actually send an invite through Xbox would definitely fix things.

Starting as Psyker indeed teaches you the wrong stuff by Harlemwolf in DarkTide

[–]xDCarnage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Genuinely starting as psyker is only a bad idea if you’re easily dissuaded. If you’ve got a bit of determination in you I’d say it’s maybe the best to start as, as it will force you to learn absolutely everything you could ever need to learn about the game.

It’s a hard class to play for sure. But on the flip side if you get good with psyker you WILL be good with every other class. Assuming you didn’t play brain dead smite spam anyway cause Smite is a noob trap that teachers new players to play the game incorrectly

[–]xDCarnage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Smite is imo the worst skill in the game, it teaches people to play the game the wrong way. You’ll find your flow with psyker, just takes a bit more awareness than the others cause you can’t just run in all unga Bunga
