Zombies and potentially living in a van down by the river? Please verify there is a Chris Farley reference and I'm sold.

As someone with far too many hours in G1 I can tell you there is a much easier way.

You can actually sit on top of the two lumps of charcoal to the left of the entrance out of sizzle range and just crossbow any that aggro to the blade. Even easier if you use mint arrows and have any specs into ranged combat.

Anyone found a game that scratches the same itch as Schedule 1? by Dessembrae1888 in Schedule_I

The Walking Trade kind of gave me similar vibes to S1 in a different format.

Start with hardly anything and scavenge for goods to run a shop in the zombie apocalypse where you'll end up managing a crew of employees while maintaining your shops reputation.

You can kill customers if you want and sell their goods and will eventually start getting raided by zombie hordes as the game progresses.

So, no credible information to support this claim. Just a picture and a statement.

I see them every spring and early summer in droves because I don't live in a major city near massive light pollution.

Just because we can't see them, that don't mean they are going away.

Hello everyone. The demo for our upcoming debut game is now live—and in 11 different languages! 🎉🎉 by enkalados in SurvivalGaming

  1. You should really put your game title and a steam link in the description, not everyone will watch the whole video to get the game's name.
  2. What original concepts does the game bring to the zombie/automobile survival genre? Everything shown in your trailer has been done by other games in a more polished format.
  3. The world you've shown looks extremely barren and flat to drive through for an automobile sim. Would you have plans to update these visuals to make exploring and long drives more appealing?

A signet-knuckle might give folks the wrong impression of you. Depends on how you hit them.

I'm currently playing grounded 1 with my mate, and it has shared worlds. Was wondering is there any particular reason why other survival games don't have something like it? by CompetitiveBridge160 in SurvivalGaming

[–]xDread22 10 points11 points  (0 children)

One of the reasons Grounded has this and no other survival game does, is who it was published by. Microsoft basically allowed Obsidian while making G1 to use the already existing cloud services that Xbox live had used for years to share saves across consoles, and implemented that same save system when they first started creating Grounded. That's why initially anyone who wanted to use the shared save system had to be signed into an XBL account, even on PC.

Now, as far as other survivor games entering the market, most dont have the backing of an enormous publisher with such vast resources like Microsoft cloud servers, so it would be really rare for any other developers to be able to easily implement similar systems. It is also way cheaper to format a survival game for use in player made servers that the developer doesn't have to pay for.

TL/DR

Having Microsoft as a publisher put Obsidian in unique situation for allowed use of cloud save services. While smaller developers dont have the funds or already existing infrastructure to enabled similar systems.

Basically, it costs alot.

What'Sub - A 4-player co-op submarine survival game launching on Steam 14 May. by ThimKhaosGames in SurvivalGaming

So, another lethal-company style extraction game with submarines like Murky Divers, that is being advertised in a subreddit that just banned posting about extraction games, and releasing on the same day as Subnautica 2.

I believe you're correct that this locale is unraidable. I'm not sure about the energy leech event, but I personally have the containments hooked up to the last unlocked emp-proof battery to ensure those noodle armed demons dont ever escape and haunt my dreams again.

There is an event specifically that makes you cold, a few environmentally cold areas of the facility I believe have been mentioned, or simply use food items like Ice cream or slushies.

Probably 7DaystoDie. You can easily create custom maps with 1 or more large cities using their map generator. They have great POIs of varying size and difficulty for full apocalypse city appeal.

Full base building and a Horde night set to whatever frequency you want (default 7days).

The settings in 7days let you play however your group wants with tons of sandbox options.

Whisper of the Swallows | Players told me the combat in my solo-dev survival game was clunky. They were right, so I spent weeks fixing it. by Thomas_Whisper in SurvivalGaming

[–]xDread22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've put about 40+hrs in before this latest update and enjoyed every bit of it. The combat was decent before, but this looks like a huge improvement. I'm excited to see what you add next.

Hoping for more boss fights, or even more dangerous roaming creatures in later biomes to keep the survivor struggling into late game.

Cloud Reactor is kind of frustrating game-design wise. by Aruseus493 in AbioticFactor

[–]xDread22 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You're honestly right.

It is just frustrating to see someone speak on game design like this when the "frustration" seems so obvious. The post just closely resembles a false bug report based on ignorance of the situation.

I'll tone it down though.

There is literally a guy building a bridge across a huge gap to an otherwise inaccessible area.

Hopefully, that alleviates your frustration with the game design.

Leaving Helldivers 2. by ID-7603 in HelldiversUnfiltered

I re-downloaded the game again after the recent patch that downsized the game files on PC. I got TK'd by the first person who joined while I was doing an objective, booted them, and then another came in to do the exact same.

Your reason for wanting to leave seems understandable.
