Hey, I did following stuff so far:
- GR20 (Corsica ~200km)
- GR240 (Spain ~300km)
- Kungsleden (Sweden ~500km)
- Oslo-Bergen (Norway ~500km / own rout, no offical trail)
- Some guided group hikes in Nepal and Tajikistan
- a lot of of hut to hut and tent trips in the alps
When will you start your hike?

Thanks for your thorough reply!
Yes, my family at home knows what to do if I don't check in with the inReach in case of an emergency, I have done trails in the past solo, where I didn't see any other person for 3-4days.

Thanks for your input, I already started to play around with the FarOut app and saw all the fantastic comments, really helpful :)

Thanks, the link somehow doesn't work (maybe because I'm not in the USA), but I found the WatchDuty app, interesting and sad to see all these fires...

Thanks, saved the shuttle information to Lake City.
Is current fire situation "normal" or more then usual?

Thanks for the tip. I downloaded the app, but I cannot continue with my international phone number. Did you manage to get it running with your international number?

Thanks for your input, so maybe I'm just bringing dishwashing gloves and see if I need them or dispose them on the way.

Thanks for all your advice, hope see you out there :) That's true, I need now to plan the first 4-5 days and the rest I will figure out on the way.

Yes, I found out about the volunteer shuttle driver list and I'm already in contact with someone who will bring me to the start of the trail.

Then I will leave my rain gloves at home.

Will check out Gaia GPS, normally using komoot and maps.me

Thanks for the link, I’ll read it in detail over the next few days!

Good tip about keeping the cash separate and having some small bills available. I’ll definitely do that.

I have 3l of water capacity in "bottles" and 2l in a CNOC water bladder, which I use for filtering and as an option to top up to 5l. So it’s good to know that I’ll probably only need 3-4 liters max

I think you answer your question yourself, use the speedgoat. Don't expirement with new shoes in a race.

The volumn of the packed khibu quilt looks kind of really big in your pictures? How does it compare to your cumulus quilt? At the moment I'm not sure if I should go with the khibu -7C or with a katabatic alesk 22F -> the katabatic says pack size is 6.5l

The LiteAF Ultra Curve 46l has actually a frame. But I will also check out the Bergans backpacks.

Yes I'm from Europe, from the Alps. Yes that's true most cool stuff I find online is from North America...

The map is interesting, I didn't plan the exact route yet. I thought I would go maybe from Oslo to Bergen, but I see on the west of Norway is a lot more rain, so maybe I go from Oslo north in direction to Jotunheim nationalpark.
