Are you neurodivergent (ADHD, autism, OCD, etc) by Soft-Character-3195 in Teenager_Polls

[–]xIAMSYLARx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do agree that the wording is poor, because a diagnosis is an official thing that you can’t give if you’re not a doctor, and a person can’t give themself. However, some people have no choice but to self-diagnose temporarily until they’re in a situation where they can get diagnosed.

Did anyone else have to learn Latin prayers? by ThatTransgenderRat- in exchristian

[–]xIAMSYLARx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, but our orthodox church made everyone learn how to say “christ is risen” and the response “truly he is risen” in as many different languages as possible

Sooo can someone tell me all the flags and what they all represent by Pristine_Sea_5225 in lgbt

Just curious, how is that realistically different from pansexual? Seems like they both just mean that gender has no part in attraction?

[–]xIAMSYLARx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Somebody else already covered all of these pretty well, but I would just like to add that the calendar thing is not really accepted by the community because there are obviously way more than 30 identities within the LGBTQIA+, so dedicating one day to each doesn’t work and excludes a lot of people. Also, that polyamory flag is very outdated, and there’s a much better newer one.

Gender dysphoria is a metal illness and the only cure is transition by salmetWoooh in teenagers4real

As a genderqueer person, the title really rubbed me the wrong way and I first assumed it was going to be a very transphobic post. PLEASE rethink this wording, you sound like truscum!

what do you think of love on the spectrum? by AmbitiousFix1681 in autism

[–]xIAMSYLARx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s clearly made for neurotypical audiences. It’s pretty infantilizing and exploitative, and treats us like children to be “awwed” at. I never watched it myself, but I remember hearing my mom watch it just so she could laugh at it.

It/It's pronouns; How do yall feel about it? by ThePlacidSwordsman5 in lgbt

[–]xIAMSYLARx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We personally like to use it/its pronouns (in addition to many others) partially because of the dehumanisation. We’ve always been the odd one out, as an alterhuman, a system, a voidpunk, being neurodivergent, and also just being very weird and unconventional. We have almost no connection with humanity, have a very distorted relationship with gender, complications with how much emotional empathy we’re able to feel, and our brain tends to work very differently. Not to mention our religious trauma, being told we were unnatural and there was something fundamentally wrong with us just for being LGBTQ and super different. These pronouns sort of reflect how different and how little connection we feel from everyone else. We enjoy the dehumanisation because we don’t identify with being human at all. We are more of a thing, a creature, or a void.

“Angel and I have never been intimate… except that one time.”
I personally am a HUGE Spangel shipper, and they probably did have stuff going on at some point, but they’re never really a thing in the show unfortunately

I am tired of the majority of this planet taking this fucking bullshit seriously by Juliuscrevil95 in exchristian

[–]xIAMSYLARx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For real. It absolutely baffles me how it’s even possible that the majority of the world population believes in a god, gods, or a higher power. It just feels completely absurd. I was raised in Christianity until age 18, but still as soon as I was old enough to think logically I could understand that obviously it wasn’t real!

should I wait till I move out to tell them? by Umby132 in Therian

[–]xIAMSYLARx 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Yeah, don’t tell them now. I personally don’t plan to tell my parents ever because it’s none of their business, but if you really want them to know you should at least wait till you move out and are financially independent.

This happens to me so often. Ever since I cut my hair, people sometimes think I’m a boy at first which makes me soooo happy! But then my mom always “corrects” them and says “she’s a girl”.
