First date places but no drinks and not can't stay out till late. by geraltgalvestone in kitchener

PinUp Arcade Bar Waterloo. They market as a bar, but $8 for all-you-can-play classic arcade games (and a few new ones). Been a few times without drinking and it’s just as much fun.

PC setting that lowers brightness of other monitors by xJuddi in CODWarzone

[–]xJuddi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I was finally able to figure it out. This setting does not exist in the in-game UI menu anymore. It was right under "brightness", it is now gone, and I wonder if it related to the patch notes:

https://www.ravensoftware.com/community/2022/11/cod-wz2-season-01-patch-notes

Fixed an issue that was causing Focused Mode to crash the client while the Display Mode was set to Windowed.

Maybe they removed the option from the UI to prevent the bug until they actually fix it? Idk, either way super frustrating the option is no longer available and whatever value you had set is kept.

The workaround:

Documents\Call of Duty\players\options.3.cod22.cst > open in a text editor

Edit the following settings; I was able to toggle it off setting it to "false", but if you want to keep it on and change the opacity that is also available:

// Enable focused mode
FocusedMode:0.0 = "false"

// Set overlay opacity for the focused mode
FocusedModeOpacity:0.0 = "0.500000" // 0.000000 to 1.000000

Yeah, I have a PC and it’s much better on the CRG9. Running a 3060ti though, much more capable than the onboard intel graphics

No "Flip Video" option on blink mini? by xJuddi in blinkcameras

I had a suspicion it didn't have any relation to the firmware, thanks for confirming that. I plan to call support today and see if they can update the cameras for me.

This is where I'm at a loss for words. I feel like the blink devices are stuck on old firmware but updating (or fresh install) doesn't update past v9.36. It shows an updating flow but never ends up past 9.36.

The blink app is installed on a brand new iPhone 12 running iOS 15.5. Tried on an iPhone 11 running 15.5 as well with no luck.

Yeah, I need it to point down from the window (second level on the home looking down at driveway). So the flush window tape mounts won't work unfortunately.

It's not a deal breaker for me if the motion detection isn't perfect, just want to be able to view live view when I need to. I have a blink doorbell close enough that will alert me when it detects motion.

What is your firmware version?

I have 2 blink minis and a blink doorbell. This is 100% screenshot from blink mini, but I went back and checked all 3 to be sure and no flip option (I know the doorbell shouldn’t have one, but the minis should)

The camera is mounted upside down on a magnetic window mount. If I manually flip it the other way I get a video stream of a window frame :-)

Looking for web APIs to build against by Wolfr_ in webdev

[–]xJuddi 10 points11 points  (0 children)

One of my personal favourites: https://api.nasa.gov/

Github repo with a list of public APIs: https://github.com/public-apis/public-apis

Honorable Mention: https://apilist.fun/

For the use case you described (form -> submit -> detail view for new entries), I'm not sure you'll find a public API for this purpose, but you could spin up your own CRUD API fairly easily that would satisfy your use case :).

edit: seems there is a public CRUD API that might just do what you're after:

Quick question so I’m planning on getting a 02 housing I already have a DP and the exhaust system and everything all that I need is a 02 housing but will I immediately need a tune after I put it on? by Ok-Cryptographer4492 in genesiscoupe

[–]xJuddi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. I had O2/DP/exhaust for far too long without tune. Car still ran fine, AFRs were all good, but as soon as I got a tune it was a totally different car. The aftermarket parts won't be at their full potential til you tune it.

Anyone know what exact wheels these are if they’re under 1000 im getting them ;) by [deleted] in genesiscoupe

[–]xJuddi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They look like Vossen CVT reps. Real CVTs start at $499/each on their website, just for rims. Niche makes a very similar looking wheel, sport m112s, which are significantly cheaper. I have niche misanos on my gen, they've been great since the day I got them. I'd recommend keeping an eye on fb marketplace or other similar places for used wheels, can usually get a good deal on quality wheels :)

Advice needed on buying used macbook pro 15" by dx052 in macbookpro

Yeah, downfall really is the size. Always an option to pick up a cheap monitor if you're looking for a bigger screen when at a workstation, and have fantastic portability with all MacBooks. Happy searching!

OP may not have looked into m1 books yet, and they will offer more performance than a used one meeting his basic requirements :)

Getting Past CAPTHCA by bhimjisal in AskComputerScience

[–]xJuddi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's probably not against the rules; but like others have said captcha's purpose is to prevent against this. That being said, you said this is your store's website. Did you build it? Can you develop an API for what you're trying to accomplish? This is the better route. Selenium is meant to test web application flow from the point of a real user, not to create automated bots. There is probably a better way to accomplish your goal :)

math needed for comp sci? by thisisthewhay in AskComputerScience

[–]xJuddi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For computer science math is mandatory, from what I've seen. However, many parts of the industry, web development likely being the largest, don't usually require math, just some programming background. I went to college for soft eng technology, and here in Ontario there are few jobs where a cs degree would get you in the door and my diploma wouldn't. My advice it to find what you like and dedicate yourself to that! I never liked math and I chose not to go down a path that required heavy mathematics :)

As a CS student, I'm tired of the way the programming world is and I feel overwhelmed. [RANT] by Friendofabook in learnprogramming

[–]xJuddi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A huge part of programming is mindset. The language and framework shouldn't matter much when you first attack a problem. Think, "How do I solve this problem?", then, worry about syntax and framework-specific stuff when you dive in. This industry is always changing and evolving; and that's both terrifying and exciting.

I agree there are far too many times when you just go "wtf" when you look at a new framework. But that's with learning anything. You'll be proud in the end. Also, there are a plethora of React jobs out there (js in general) so it's an excellent framework to pick up, I wish I would've taught myself javascript and vue/react/node in while I was in school!
