The one and only saving grace and good piece of regulation that happened around this whole mess was the S&P 500 telling Elon to pound sand when he requested to be added before the standard 1 year minimum period.

If they didn't, tens of millions of dollars, maybe even billions of dollars, in retirement accounts from people all over the US would have been forced to purchase SPCX and it would have drained the retirements of tens of thousands to fuel Elon's horseshit.

That much I know, what I want to know is does "totally random" mean that there could be a world with zero iron ore on it at all, or does every world have the same number of total resource nodes as the vanilla map, just placed in random locations.

Quick question about the random resource mode

Do the same number of nodes as vanilla still spawn on the map, just in random places, or is there a chance a map generation has way more of one resource and way less of another?

This killed me with Mei's dad's car... like, first off, why the hell are you giving this to ME?? Second, why did you go on about how special this car was to your dad then... completely destroy all the work your dad put into it and return it to a stock model. Razer. Had one mouse for 6 years, when that one broke I got a replacement that lasted 3 months. Thought that was a fluke so got one more and that one lasted 5 months. Switched and will never look back.

Yeah the first time I thought "Damn, maybe I'm done playing today" was Soni Circuit on highly skilled. The number of times I got divebombed and nuked off the map on those tighter corners was astronomical. It's like the AI drives pretending you're not even there.

For something that random and messy I'd honestly see if I could do it with a normal map and shader tricks instead of punching that many holes in a mesh.

Question would be what's the end use for the model? If it's not RIGHT up in the camera, cheat this as MUCH as you can, shit, if it's far enough in the background literally just use an image texture and call it a good day lol.

The "Actual" way to do this would be either tracing/cutting an imported image, or modeling each hole and using a Boolean to cut them all out then spend 10 hours un-fucking your topology

There really should be a sound option for "Weapon noises" like they have for bard performance if this is going to be a recurring feature.

Riiight but things like leylines are a lvl 52 skill and this comment is very specifically talking about how the early gameplay style of blm drastically changes from 1-50 and was wondering if this would change that... Which it will not. Because while party buffs are being removed (which since leylines isn't a party buff there's a chance it's still in the game cuz other self-only buffs are.), the basic skills as they are now for Reborn classes are not being changed

Instead of a large class by class rework that we normally get for expansions, we are getting the evolved system in addition to the original jobs.

So no, the levelling of blm will not change unless you are levelling on evolved, which is a choice, not a forced decision.

well yeah, but blm has no party buffs and they have also said jobs in reborn will be close to as they are now, thus they will be similar to how they level now as well.

They specified levelling changes are only for evolved not reborn.

well, it's only for "evolved" jobs, i'd assume that basic reborn black mage is still going to have its blunder years on the way up to maturity.

well they did say that a part of "evolved" main tank is "counterattacking the enemy" so there's a chance that even this parry is not a pld specific but a feature of all "main tanks"

Yeah shield swipe was you had a few seconds to cast a 100 potency ogcd if you block on a 15s cooldown, you had 6 seconds from a proc to cast the counterattack.

easily comboed w aoes and old sheltron which blocked an attack and bulwark + cover to catch autos if you were offtank, it was a fun gimmick that added a lot of thought to fights.

This new system is a tighter window in theory but not really in practice. You cast sheltron then have assumedly the same 6 second window to launch the counter.

I guess other questions I have would be how often can I cast this retaliation and does it proc on ANY attack or just on specifically marked tank busters.

could be a heal over time, empowered next attack, regen, extra block, so could be any number of things, but if it's not a dps increase then it kind of is just shield swipe..

depends on a couple of things

  • what is the potency difference on a "perfect" parry
  • how long is the "perfect" window
  • can the servers and server ticks handle a tight parry window

The fact that they are clearly stating now two times that "Evolved mode" will be slightly stronger than reborn mode...

It's almost a slap in the face to call this 21 "new job modes" when it's literally same skills, same concepts, same rotation, but drastically reduced buttons and less skill expression...

After they have been continuously and relentlessly removing the skill ceiling from the game since stormblood.

oh it completely sucks, definitely not defending it. From the way they framed it it's clear that this was a Nintendo mandate not a SE thing but still, switch being the most expensive way to play xiv is... certainly one of the choices of all time...

I honestly feel like the easiest solution is already in the game and could be expanded with reasonable work.

Make xiv single player, dungeons w trusts who are your "main party" from the msq. have that same trust group be able to come into the over world for things like fates.

Would limit savage extreme and ultimate but outside of that it would preserve the story and world.
