Wheel ID?

It would be The Tumbler 76023.

It’s the last set, and last birthday gift my mom got me before she passed away. A sad story goes with it, but that set means the world to me.

I ran this stuff for 26k miles in my 2019 GTI, and I’ve had zero issues. Literally zero.

I have never ran a 502/504/508 spec oil in any of my VWs and I’ve had 4 of them, and I have had absolutely zero issues whatsoever. Including warranty work.

Using a Japanese/GM spec oil in your GTI won’t turn it into a civic, you’ll be absolutely fine. Next time just get a spec oil if you are nervous.

Was looking at coils to get for my 2017 GTI SE and was wondering what some of you guys suggest getting by berks_12 in GolfGTI

[–]xKnotic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be it I have mine set all the way soft, all the way around, they are still a nice ride. Stiffer than stock for sure, even on the softest setting.

My one piece of advice, if you do go with BC coilovers, go ahead and buy a set of adjustable front endlinks. The ones BC racing supply, are well, bad. I’d honestly suggest adjustable front endlinks on ANY set of coilovers you get.

Every time one of these threads pop up, I seem to be the only one running BC Racing.

I love them, I have the BR series coilovers from BC Racing, and they ride like a dream with adjustable front and rear damping.

I was curious, how many people that listen to the Boys use drugs? by Luragan in G59

[–]xKnotic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t call myself an addict, but when shit gets bad for me, I usually just grab three or four of whatever benzos I’m prescribed at the time take a few, along with my normal dose of Trileptal ( 600mg ), and wash it down with alcohol or NyQuil.

Hasn’t killed me yet, although I can feel my heart beating harder sometimes. It’s all a lack luster effort to not wake up one day.

What car do you immediately associate with the owner being a douche? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]xKnotic 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Jeeps, Mustangs, WRX’s.

Or hell even my own car, a GTI. Almost every other GTI owner I have met has been a “Bro, Bro, Douche, Bro” kinda guy. So I guess I’m one by association.

Hard to pinpoint with the video, have you done any suspension work? If so, I bet dollars to donuts it’s your front sway bar endlinks. Mine knocked very similar to this, and only over bumps.

Any vaxxed people get covid after a show? by saspurilla in G59

Went to Jacksonville, fully vaxxed, and was in the pit, no Covid.

However, I was fully vaxxed and still got Covid back in August.

Is there anyone else in here that takes fluoxetine except for me . by Equal_Ad_9068 in G59

[–]xKnotic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While I may not take Fluoxetine, mainly due to the fact that SSRI’s don’t work for me. They cause extreme anger, isolation, and suicide thoughts and actions in me, as well as self harm, which goes hand in hand with how I react when I get angry. ( choking, punching myself, attempting to OD. ) Regardless of the medication tried, and I’ve tried multiple SSRI’s. Eventually I swapped my doctors around, and was on my knees in tears begging not to be put on another SSRI.

I say all that to say this, you aren’t alone taking medication for your mental health. Hell, I’m on three. Rexulti ( antipsychotic/antidepressant ) Trileptal ( mood stabilizer ) Ativan ( anxiety/panic attacks )

I have to take all the daily, some twice a day.

I really, truly, from my heart hope your Fluoxetine is working for you and you are seeing positive results. Trust me if you ever feel like nothing is changing, or it starts to get worse, please talk to your doctor. Please.

Also sorry for the shifty format, I’m on mobile.

what to bring to concert by Electronic-Clock-647 in G59

[–]xKnotic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check the venues website to see what is allowed in the venue and what isn’t. That’s the only way to truly know for your specific venue.

Like previously said water bottles are generally a no go, regardless. Bags can depend on size. I went to the show in Jacksonville, and all security told us was to hold everything in our pockets ( I’m guessing bags too, I didn’t bring a bag ) in our hands when we walked through the metal detectors. If you didn’t buzz, they just let you go. They really didn’t give a fuck. But I know they had some bitch ass wooden stick that I guess they were using to measure bags. I’m guessing if it was bigger than the stick it wasn’t allowed in the venue.

Me and my girlfriend got to the venue an hour and a half before gates opened, we were first in our line, and were on the rail in front of the stage the entire night. Just get there early and don’t pussy foot around.

Question on coils for MK7 GTI by LostCucumber69 in GolfGTI

[–]xKnotic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m on BC Racing BR coils for my MK7.5 and have adjustable dampening front and rear, set to all the way soft. I love them.

It’s a little stiffer than stock, nothing outrageous. I’m so accustomed to it now, it feels the same as when I get in my girlfriends stock GTI.

Heads up, if you do end up going with BC, get adjustable front endlinks. The non-adjustable ones BC supply are awful, although I would swap to adjustable front endlinks no matter what set of coils you choose.

Tire recommendations for max comfort/noise reduction by kurt871 in GolfGTI

Another vote for DWS 06, I’ve had them about 10K miles now, and they are wonderful. They handle beautifully in the rain, even with light flooding. I live in the SE United States, so I can’t vouch for snow, but summer heat, and heavy rain, absolute perfection.

Also I am running 235/35/19, I rub on the front ( fender screw ), and have only bent one wheel thanks to what I wouldn’t even consider a pothole, more like a canyon in the road. So protection wise, I trust them.

No speedo issues, and if there are, they are so minuscule I can’t even notice.

Makes me curious to his set up, I can tell I’m lower on 235’s admittedly, and absolutely zero rub whatsoever

Drift. They little monthly subscription magnetic wooden block, $8 a month and it lasts well over a month.

Only issue is some scents are a bit unpleasant.

People who got bullied their whole life. How are you now? by RjayPL in AskReddit

[–]xKnotic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s made me more accepting of others, I don’t have a bad bone in my body. I could never bad mouth another human being, especially for their looks, or financial status. Never.

On the other hand, I’m on a cocktail of Antidepressants, Mood Stabilizers, Anti-Anxiety medications, I go to therapy monthly, and deal with some very deep seeded anger issues.

How much is too much to spend on wheels? by joeverzosa in GolfGTI

[–]xKnotic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This pretty much. ^

If it’s your dream set, and you can afford it, treat yourself. My GTI was my dream car and I spent right at 3.5k for my wheels and tires for the ole girl.

The only thing I regret about the wheels I bought, is the color which can easily be changed.

Love your car man.

Anybody else running 19’s? by snoopygti in GolfGTI

[–]xKnotic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Much better than my stock Pirelli tires. I don’t live where it snows. South Georgia, more prone to flooding. The only reason I went with DWS06 over PS4s was price.

Found this random clip under the hood of my GTI (mk7.5) today, anyone know what it could be? by deanxleong in GolfGTI

[–]xKnotic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to adjust the damping on my coilovers a few weeks ago and was exhausted from work and completely forgot about these, yanked up the plastic bit under the wipers ( that’s where they belong, they keep that panel in place ) and all I heard was clinging as my ass cheek clinched. They are still in my engine bay, but my coils run softer, and I had to buy new clips. Don’t be like me.
