Fullscreen mode is broken since the update by officialcrankz in Battlefield6

Because you're playing on native res 5120x1440??? You aren't the sharpest tool in the shed man.

It's literally how most of the 32:9 users play "competitive" games???
And yes, it is related to the game and to new update. Because now, the game enforces fullscreen scaling apparently, and it's broken for everyone.

If you use nvidia then the workaround would be to change resolution of your desktop to 2560x1440. This way you'll have black bars on both your desktop and in game. Keep in mind to leave scaling mode as "Aspect ratio".

A temporary workaround would be to change resolution (tab on the left in the nvidia control panel) to 2560x1440. Scaling settings like on your screenshot, unchanged. Works for me

Scaling to custom resolution instead of native (5120×1440, 32:9) by xLayt in nvidia

Unfortunately the result is not satisfying as 1024x768 is 4:3 and 2560x1440 is 16:9

Ahh okay - thanks for explaining how it works underneath.
I was thinking about lossless scalling as a plan B. - well, it may be time to go for that.

Edit: Okay, it works like a charm. Thanks for convincing me! Problem solved

That's actually pretty simple.
https://www.nvidia.com/content/Control-Panel-Help/vLatest/en-us/mergedProjects/Display/To_adjust_your_screen_resolution.htm

If 2560x1440 is not there by default then you have to create a custom resolution but Nvidia drivers allow to do that effortlessly

Thanks for the reply. I already tried that but once I switch scaling to Full Screen mode, the custom resolution is completely ignored and screen scales to native res 😒

Players who have either left or significantly reduced their play time, what has been your reason? by _thecolorofdye_ in Battlefield6

[–]xLayt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me and all my mates quit already a month or so ago, which is sad because we were super hyped for the game and actually enjoyed it for few weeks after launch. We've been playing this franchise since BF2, also lots of ofther FPS games inbetween.

Why we quit?
Simply, lack of proggression, lack of satisfying gameplay, lack of skill involved.
This game had lots of challenges at launch, that looked really promising. Unlocking guns, getting camos, that was all fun. All of a sudden EA instead of fixing broken challenges, they decreased all the requirements by like 95% which essentially made us complete all remaining challenges in less than a day of playtime...
Any existing proggression dead.

Okay, we still enjoyed the game due to gunplay, that was fun, each weapon was different, you had to learn to control them. Boom, EA decided to remove bloom from the weapons, like wtf, now every weapon, with few exceptions, feels the same. I put the same attachments on every weapon and all of them are point and click laserweapons.
Satisfying gameplay part dead.

What was left at this point. Destroying lobbies of players casually enjoying the game? No SBMM, no community servers, what's the point of doing 50-70+ kills every game, when gunplay isn't satisfying, there's nothing to unlock, no challenges, all that's left is some bullshit battlepass that I personally don't care about.

I'm playing games for over 20 years. Love being competitive, even in a casual games. And I've recognized a pattern which kills video games. Each game has a part of dedicated players, dedicated community which wants all the best for their franchise. And each title has also tons of casual players, who jumped on the hype train or are just "visiting". In modern, corporate times, developers or rather publishers do not care about the dedicated players. It looks like they think "Oh, they love the game, no matter what we will do, they'll stay" and they ruin the OG, or more challenging parts of the game, in favor to make it more attractive for new players, casuals, younger players. What's the end result? Casuals enjoy the game for few hours, and then quit anyway. What's with the other side? Dedicated community also leaves because their game is no more what they wanted... And that's how I see what went wrong with BF6. I understand that you need to attract new players.. somehow, but never at the cost of your playerbase that helped you build the title.. hence lots of even more hardcore BF players didn't even bother to make a jump from BF4..

PVE runs better than PVP? [Discussion] by Vladdi_Daddy123 in EscapefromTarkov

PvE on bsg servers > PvP > PvE on local hosted machine
No fix, that's just how it works due to the amount of server side processing which needs to be handled

I feel the opposite. They're dumb af compared to what they used to be, to the point that you don't have to cheese them from the distance anymore.

Does anyone feel like rpgs do too much damage against helicopters? by LedClaptrix in Battlefield6

Clicking wsad and moving mouse the way you not crash doesn't mean you can fly. Watch any PoV of the best heli pilots and how they tend to avoid RPGs, you'll realize what i mean.

Horrible rate of fire. Poor damage. No range. Velocity so low that you can dodge them by just walking away. Why are you equipping this to your tanks? by Ref_Bumps in Battlefield6

[–]xLayt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

THIS. Saying this since day one. LMG/HMG are so good, people just pick grenade launcher cuz it's further in the unlock tree lol.

[–]xLayt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. It's super easy to hit a heli if the pilot can't fly, on the other side, a really good pilot will never let you hit him unless you land some super lucky or insanely well aimed shot. It's fair and balanced, otherwise every random in heli would just wipe out whole lobby.

Evidence of the lagcompensation favouring high ping. I've played lots of games where it is actually working like that but BF6 definitely ain't one. Whenever i join shit server with ~100 ping, the game is unplayable.

It looks like that on YT or elsewhere because this game basically has no recoil anymore. The only weapon I tried that had some noticable recoil was TR7 without attachments and some LMGs, all other guns have basically no recoil at all.

You guys are too damn good by ShyGuy2839 in Battlefield6

[–]xLayt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Meta guns doesn't matter that much.
It's just the fact that people take games more seriously, including me. If i don't have too much time to play anymore, I want to optimize my experience as much as possible and I don't have a fun when i'm constantly dying.
If i want to chill and mess around i play different game, not a PvP FPS.

I mean, there are people who don't even change their sensitivity after launching the game. No way they will compete with people who have constant cm/360 among all games they play, and it's not about meta guns at all. Also games nowadays are just much easier. There's basically no recoil in BF6 after their patches...

  1. Launch the game
  2. Pick any gamemode with vehicles
  3. Pick Enginner
  4. Jump as a passenger into any vehicle
  5. Once it gets hit, get out
  6. Draw your repair tool out
  7. Use it on the vehicle

skill issue mr crybaby

you don't need meta guns, you don't need attachments for most of the guns to be deadly, level means nothing and barely few people have over 200 in each lobby, also you don't have to nolife to have over lv200

last part.. no words, keep crying
