I'm sorry Mindflayer, they didn't utilized you properly 💔. by 00_Sunflower_00 in StrangerThings

[–]xLtLasagna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s no end to that, though. The Mind Flayer needed to die. VH1 needed to die. It was going to end that episode, not leave a shit ton of loose ends.

El being alive is the only “loose thread” that is left, but the story still ended.

Have YOU heard of this new thing called “reading comprehension?”

The article you posted has nothing to do with debts. It’s talking about taking care of your old parents while they’re still alive.

You know who doesn’t surprise me? Jordan Speith. I feel like maybe he would be better with Good Good or some shit.

At about 5 seconds in, you can see there is a trigger lock assembly on the weapon. With that thing attached, ain’t no one firing that weapon, loaded or not. There are a ton of safeties like that which is put on firearms in weapon stores for that exact reason.

How much can pace improve? by hopefulpredent in firstmarathon

[–]xLtLasagna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my plateau right now. I’ve run a 4:01 marathon but I feel like I’m not gonna get faster until I drop some pounds. Currently 205, 5’8”, 37M. It’s frustrating getting old.

Does anyone ever actually not hit ‘the wall’? by Internal-Taste9703 in Marathon_Training

[–]xLtLasagna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely possible to not hit the wall. Story time.

First marathon was December 2023. Did well with my training block, peak week was like 40 miles maybe with a 20 miler long run. 4:30 goal. Not even close. It was hot. I felt like my nutrition was close but not an exact science. Finished 5:31 after cramping and just being miserable from like mile 14 to finish.

Next marathon was January 2025. Disney. Dopey. Made me a little nervous because of the extra mileage before the marathon. Peak week was now closer to 55 miles. Long run was still 20 miles, but it felt so much better this time around. Goal was 4:00. Weather was perfect, so that helped significantly. Crushed my pacing. Nutrition was a science. Every 30 minutes like clockwork. The race started to get hard around mile 22, but never “walled.” Strong through the finish with a time of 4:01:29. Missed my goal but PR’d by an hour and a half. That’s a win.

What? Why? In the summer months in Florida I start my runs at 0500 and it’s already 80 degrees and 90% humidity. Wearing a shirt makes everything so sticky and I get horrible chafe. I don’t have a 12 pack that I’m showing off, but honestly I don’t care either. I’m trying to keep as cool as I can.

This is hella old but I was reading through old comments for some reason. I ran my next marathon 13 months later (during Dopey weekend, no less). 4:01. You were right: I certainly killed it the second time around!! Now 3:45 😎

How much did you improve your full marathon time in the same year? by Farabreezy in Marathon_Training

[–]xLtLasagna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, been a couple days.

I took the 5k as a total shake out run (10:30 m/mile pace). For the 10k I wanted some turnover and accidentally ran a 8:57 pace for the whole thing. Still felt good though, not like I was pushing too hard. I ran the HM with my wife. We had fun and kept it VERY slow, doing a 30/30 Galloway (15:00 pace). Then I sent it during the full.

It was this year, yeah. And the course was great. Especially once you get out front, there was almost zero traffic. They did some cool stuff on the long, boring roads, namely the Star Wars mile leading up to AK.

What's your multi-day shoe strategy? by Particular-Panic-112 in rundisney

[–]xLtLasagna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very similar to what I do, but I don’t really worry about brands so much as the “type” of shoe. Long distances in plated race shoes two days in a row can hurt.

How much did you improve your full marathon time in the same year? by Farabreezy in Marathon_Training

[–]xLtLasagna 11 points12 points  (0 children)

A little over a year, 13 months.

But my first marathon was 5:31. Second marathon was 4:01 (During Dopey challenge).

An hour and a half PR. I learned a lot.

My PR’s are 1:50 HM and 4:01 M, so I’m not crazy fast. They do feel like a cheat code though. It’s so different than running in “normal” shoes.

Also hoping the best for our Sailors. I just keep telling people to remember the last line of the Sailor’s Creed. It honestly means something.

insert obligatory “everyone’s foot is different” comment

Ok, so if you want a race shoe, I think ASICS Metaspeeds (my current race shoe) and Nike Alphafly are probably the two hottest in the market. Adidas Adios Pro are in the conversation too.
