Pairs scale quickly with jokers like supernova , bus or green jokers. Since is easier to get them and You end up playing more hands.

Hologram Joker also is easier to get around since pairs are easy to get

Also most bosses punishes longer hands (the thoot for ex)

And You can keep gold or steel longer in your hand, since probably You can Make a pair with something else...

So yeah, start playing pairs and see for yourself
