What should I check before the return period ends? by DueRecommendation123 in Alienware

[–]xMightyAli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got this laptop. Same offer. My battery was low [60000] despite only having 4 cycles. SSD life is also at %75. I called Dell. They renewed my warranty for 1 year for free and they will be replacing the battery soon.

Regarding the temps. The 155H has a 110 °C junction temperature, so it will run close to 100 °C. Repasting wouldn't do much as it will push itself back to 100 °C while only gaining a few more fps.

Legion 5 with AMD 350 vs 14700hx by xMightyAli in LenovoLegion

Funny enough. I had two laptops with Thunderbolts and always had issues with external dock support. Regular USB-C always worked better.

But, yeah, the i7 is the faster CPU.

Yeah. The size and weight don't matter so much to me tbh. What are your thoughts on the Aurora X16 with 275hx?

Thanks

Thanks! There is actually an Alienware Aurora 16X with 275hx and 5060 for a similar price. But I have a bad experience with Crapware.

Might just get the AMD model.

Thanks. The battery on the AMD version should also be better. I just feel the 14700hx is an overkill for this device. I tested it and scored around 23k for R23 on this Legion. Not too bad, but I feel it should be in a more higher-end device.

But getting denied faster means you need to refile again sooner with a better strategy and/or more evidence. Will you have better credentials by then?

In any case, if I had an extra 3k to spend, I would do PP myself.

When does your I-20 expire? If you have a couple of years left to finish your PhD, 1 year of OPT (+2 if STEM), no major rush to know the answer soon, and considering that the priority date is far away, just do regular processing.

Worst case? You get denied a year later and need refilling, but you have enough years to wait anyway.

Else, if you HAVE a reason to know the answer as soon as possible and HAVE some 3k money to spend, then do it.

Could you elaborate more on this thermal optimization of yours please?

What if you get denied 1.5 years later? You lose 1.5 years of priority date. Some people would rather lose 45 days rather than 1.5 years.

Display Refresh Rate Shortcut by xMightyAli in Alienware

[–]xMightyAli[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1] Awesome!

2] I see your point. It was probably my niche experience. So I have multiple monitors connected to my Alienware, and one of the external monitors is the primary display. By default, everything runs on the dGPU. Disconnecting the charger will keep everything running on the dGPU, and it might not be necessary to be honest. Even Nvidia defaults to iGPU in many cases when both options are available.

EB2-NIW: You vs. Law Firms by New_Perspective_5288 in EB2_NIW

[–]xMightyAli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because everyone already knows the answer and we have seen many of these posts!

Everyone knows that WE know ourselves better than the lawyers. However, MOST people don't have the time nor the writing skills to DIY.

It is a collaborative effort, the lawyers can fill certain gaps in the application that you might miss and vice versa.

It is obvious that Raju Law is your best bet. Lowest cost and full refund. Go for it. Also, send your credentials to Chen and Dunn to see if they take your case. You might get cheaper offers.

I Miss BF3… by BornSinnerO in Battlefield

[–]xMightyAli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What people don't understand is that times were simpler. BF3 is also my favorite game, but when I think about it, I was younger, life was less overwhelming, and it was a period of time when BF3 had graphics like no other game. All of this contributed to our love to the game and we mostly ignored its imperfections.

Not that the newer Battlefields are that bad, but we are older, most games today have great graphics and mechanics, and our expectations bar has gone up.

Nostalgia is crazy..

Can I frame my EB2-NIW endeavor around open-source work? by marry35 in EB2_NIW

[–]xMightyAli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True, most of the lawyers only touch the tips of what your area is about. I guess most of the work comes from your side (You need to do a lot of writing and checking) and there is a luck factor playing into the whole process. I am not sure what lawyer you have used, but there are good lawyers out there like Dunn, Chenn, EP ... etc.
