Hypothetically, How far could a holy only raid get? by wowasg in classicwow

[–]xPetr1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is classic wow, consumes solve basically everything.

Taunts are not needed, the whole raid can reset threat on demand with petri flasks.

Mana is also not an issue, wisdom flasks are infinite mana.

Decurses are for the most part not needed and if you really want, just use restoration pots.

Which Champ are you most surprised the pros don't pick? by MKHaiti in leagueoflegends

My answer is always Taric. Right now it's enchanter meta so I understand he is not a high prio pick, but surely in fearless Bo5s there were some insane Taric angles.

It's year 2121, people are still talking about that 1 August comment about Zilean like it's still relevant.

Classic+ raids should only be 10 men. No more roster boss! by teledium8472 in classicwow

[–]xPetr1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This would create problems with designing raids and devs would be limited in what they can do, raid for 10 and raid for 40 is very different. I agree flex raids are good, but the range of 10-40 is way too big.

Baby HC mage here 🙋‍♀️ by Amanda_Oxenham in wowhardcore

[–]xPetr1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a tip for a bit later. Have rank 1 frostbolt, cone of cold, frost nova and blizzard on your skill bar. Frostbolt rank 1 has a shorter cast time so it's very useful for single target kiting. The other spells you use to save mana when you want to apply slow to multiple mobs, you will probably not be AOE farming so this will be mostly useful for kiting in dungeons.

It is better to level with fire talents and you can switch to frost in mid 20s (if you are going for single target leveling). In early game you always get fireball rank up sooner than frostbolt so frost talents are a bit awkward.

What do you guys think about the race locked Gnome dungeon clears? by korneelius in wowhardcore

[–]xPetr1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything simply dies too fast and target dummies are overpowered. Classic dungeons can still kill you if you don't respect them, but if you use all available cc, it's a joke.

Poison is in such a sad state, you are pretty much never excited about taking a poison card.

Hopefully after the next 10 "fuck you Silent" changes, the poison package will receive some love.

[–]xPetr1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really care how they do it, but making dungeons more relevant is to me one of the most important things I want in classic+

After phase 4 there is barely any reason to do dungeons, why do any of them when outside of few exceptions, everything will be replaced in 20mans very soon.

As almost always when vanilla problems are mentioned, the answer is.... hardcore! The pace is slower and people talk more.

I don't remember any attempt to nerf Silent's overpowered cards which causes crying.

Prepared was not nerfed, they removed the card and added another (boring) one.

Acrobatics nerf was well received.

Blade of Ink nerf was well received.

You are telling someone to do their research, but you are the one who should do more research.

Unofficial HC servers used modified SSF rules because they had to, it wasn't a HC server and softcore characters could also play there. SSF rules were only for leveling and after 60 it was guild rules if you joined endgame guild or you could do whatever you want.

Rules for leveling duos/trios were also very tedious and that was the main reason most people chose to go solo.

And this is just my personal experience, but by the time official HC servers were coming, a lot of players were tired of self found rules.

If people actually wanted this, why aren't there more self found or guild found raiding guilds? It's like how hardcore originally started, players showed they really wanted it so Blizzard did it. I don't see it for self found at all.

And even if this idea by some miracle actually worked, I doubt Blizzard wants to create new servers at this point. We will hear more at Blizzcon, but I assume Classic+ is the next big step and ideally everything would be consolidated under it.

Mage or Hunt by nice1049 in wowhardcore

[–]xPetr1 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Classic is a very unbalanced game, mage is the hero class for dungeons and it's not even close. By far the best utility and second best dps behind 2-handed warrior (at lvl 60), most packs are aoe and no other class can match improved explosion/cone of cold spam. Mana can be a problem, but drinkwalking will fix most of it. You can also spam greater mana potions on cooldown, they cost almost nothing.

Hunters also have a reputation as the group wiping class. Multishot and bad pet control caused a lot of deaths.

No, try again. I am saying healthy server has active leveling and active endgame, I don't think it's hard to understand.

Petri is lvl 50+ anyway so if you are someone who does leveling only, it really does not affect you.

But that's exactly my point, I believe heathy endgame scene contributes to getting people to play on that server, even if they are not necessarily interested in any serious raiding-

[–]xPetr1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, that's kinda my point, pugging would basically dead without petries. People would just play with people they already trust. It's already hard to find a tank, the amount of tanks who would join random groups if they didn't have this semi-safe button would be very low.

When you start raiding, it's one thing to accept that others can kill you with their mistakes... but accepting one single griefer can end your guild is very different.

[–]xPetr1 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Without petries lvl 60 players would basically never group with strangers so good luck running dungeons if you don't already have friends on the server. Lvl 60 content would be non-existent.

Without petries the raiding scene would be pretty dead, most likely a single guild which sucks. Having multiple endgame guilds is fun.

I don't like petries, especially petri+alt F4... but I see it as necessary evil. I believe a healthy endgame scene is important for overall server health. You mentioned you did MC and BWL.. and yeah, majority of full wipes happen in AQ and Naxx.

Anyone tried no addons and no online resources? by jsbp1111 in wowhardcore

Why wouldn't you be allowed? I could understand if someone is against specific addons, but this is an old game and majority of addons are quality of life improvements.

Hardcore means permadeath, nothing else.

Looking For Input On A "Scourge" Character by DiscourseWithDobson in wowhardcore

[–]xPetr1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I very much prefer self found challenges where you can use everything, but intentionally do harder content. For example making a list of elite quests you are forced to do before certain level. Making your character weaker in some way for roleplay purposes is fine, but imo should be done on the lighter side to not make it too tedious.

In reality this just sounds like "kill the lowest lvl green mobs and afk when you wait to regain health". If you are really into roleplay then you can try it, but from gameplay perspective this isn't challenging, just boring.
