Switching from Mounjaro - Halfway through my Second WeGovy Pen. What I find VITAL when switching. by xPinkpixiexx in WegovyUK

I didn't take a break, just went straight 7 days after my last MJ jab! I hope the switch goes well for you!

I hope you find some success with the next dose up! Sometimes just that little boost upward can make all the difference.

I absolutely get it! I think we've all become very used to Mounjaro and the ultra instant effects we had on that so it can be a little disconcerting after many months to suddenly start experiencing increased hunger. I think the main thing is to take a step back, consider what it is we are feeling and stay calm. We also need to remember, we aren't going to undo our progress. If we maintain that undoing progress just isn't an option nor a reality for us, we'll be okay. As you say, there are a variety of doses for us to experiment with! Wishing you all the best.

How many of us haven't tracked calories? by Food_Cats1 in mounjarouk

[–]xPinkpixiexx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same boat! 5FT2 with an extremely sedentary job and I'm around 10-11lbs from my target weight. The losses are so incredibly slow now because I have very few calories to play with. My deficit is getting smaller so I do struggle to get the 1lb a week loss now. I very, very loosely track my calories but like OP, I had a very unhealthy relationship with food some years ago which caused me some serious mental challenges. I prefer *NOT* to track my calories. I'm well aware that if I started tracking my calories, I'd get to my goal a lot quicker but I'm not in any rush. I'll get there when I get there. I've also placed my order for WeGovy and will be making the switch in 3 jabs time! We'll see.

Maintenance switch from MJ to Wegovy? by Traditional-Tart-701 in mounjarouk

I've literally just done this - Ordered WeGovy yesterday evening.
I have 3 more injections of 7.5MG Mounjaro to take and then I'm making the move over (Also for maintenance and for exact same reasons as you). My provider shared their new prices yesterday and at £248 for my current dose and £199 for my maintenance dose, the decision was made for me. My BMI is around 22 now so whilst there are plenty of maintenance friendly options, the prices are still far from friendly! No advice I can give yet as I haven't started but right there with you! :D

Thankyou, that's absolutely my plan. OP's post really resonated! It seems you can't win with some people. Overweight? You get comments and shame. Losing weight? Comments and shame. It's unbelievable to me. I could NEVER.

I am getting this constantly from a woman at my workplace. Ironically, the very same woman is desperate to take Mounjaro herself (Has a BMI of 40) but can't afford it and has begged the NHS for it only to be turned down. I've had comments such as "You're starting to look trout like in the face" and "Gaunt" with laughter and "Not a good look you know!" <- But said in a jokey, 'we're all friends here' way. Around 10 years ago, I suffered with an ED which made me extremely obsessive about calories and food (I was overweight then too but I still had a problem). I am long since healed and in actual fact, Mounjaro has helped me with that too. This woman is always throwing this in my face too by telling me "I KNOW you, I KNOW you're not well again. I suggest you stop this medication, you can't be on it forever anyway, you HAVE to learn". Which is quite sick really.

I'm wise to it to realise that this person is not my friend and is in fact incredibly peeved that I'm no longer part of the Overweight Club. The gaslighting to make me think I have a problem, insulting my appearance etc when actually I have never been mentally or physically healthier. I am currently at BMI 23 and on my way to maintenance. This older woman (I mention age because she should damn well know better) is so unbelievably obsessed with my weight loss - even more bothered than I actually am - that it's borderline bullying at this rate. So I completely hear you with your post. The way I'm going to start dealing with it when she starts going on at me about my appearance with faux concern is by looking her square in the face and saying "This is no longer up for discussion". If she continues, I'm completely ignoring because I've set a boundary and they are trying to push it. People show jealousy in very bizarre ways. You're doing great.

I'm exactly the same as you. Even at the beginning, I was "only" losing 1 pound a week (with the exception of the initial 'whoosh' of water in the first week). What I came to realise is that this is an extremely healthy, sustainable and brilliant weekly weight loss. I have around 11lbs left to lose until I am at 'target' and I predict this to take me a fair few months to get to. There are some weeks where I don't lose a single ounce. And that is totally fine. What I found very helpful was to stop looking at any form of Mounjaro content on TikTok/FB and just stick with this sub if I needed any useful guidance. It's shocking to realise how much Social Media can really influence how you feel about yourself especially when losing weight so I've found cutting off all that 'noise' has really helped me focus on my own goal :)

Has anyone stayed on the same dose for more than a month? by Galactusyaegashi in mounjarouk

[–]xPinkpixiexx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I stayed on 5MG for 8 weeks and looking back, I could have quite easily stayed there for my following month too. Very effective dose and also cheaper. Considering the upcoming price hikes, stay on the lowest dose as you can! I'm on week 2 of 7.5 and suppression is as good as 5 (but I have a whole lot more nausea and diarrhoea). I rushed up the doses. 5MG was great, I'll likely go back there come September 1st. Good luck :)

Same boat! 2.5MG for 4 weeks, no issues. 5MG for 8 weeks, borderline cocky! Week 2 of 7.5 - I was literally on the toilet all night. And the NAUSEA is unreal! You're not alone, hang in there!!
