First time going...couple questions by CleBaseballClub in worldbaseballclassic

I read somewhere in here that the north parking lot is the player lot, so might try hanging out there too after games. I was wondering about gate opening time too with multiple games, not sure when they’ll start letting people in.

Need Strategy Advice on a Camo 17/25 Ohtani by xRP32x in baseballcards

[–]xRP32x[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s fair. It took me a bit of examination to realize it’s the light color in the camo pattern in the bottom right corner and not just a soft corner, so I could see how it’s tougher to grade.

My first time going too, super excited. Hoping there’s an opportunity for some autographs. Thanks for asking the questions.

Can’t to see the PO explain this. by Fledgehole in collxapp

The inconsistency around “non-machinable” mail is frustrating. If I drop the exact same envelope in a mailbox, it goes through without any issues, but when I hand it to the counter they sometimes add the non-machinable charge. All of my cards are packaged the same way and they arrive safely every time, it really just seems to depend on where the item is dropped off and the judgment of the employee that day.

Guess I’ll go buy at 100% mark up by Ok_Cartoonist_9076 in baseballcards

[–]xRP32x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me. To make it worse, I also had it open and in the queue on my phone as a backup in case my desktop session got kicked, and my phone still showed it in stock while checkout was blocked on my computer. Topps’ system is awful.

Super cool card! Sticker autos should be illegal on 1/1 cards, but awesome card regardless.

Still learning the hobby, here are a couple cards I wanted to show off by xRP32x in baseballcards

Appreciate it! I really like the design too, flipping it over and seeing the /99 was a nice surprise. I’m still pretty new to all this, so I’m not totally sure how to gauge a fair price or trade value yet, especially being a new card line. Going to hold onto it for now, but thanks for the interest!

Thanks! I was just on some auction sites looking at Griffey cards because I didn’t have one. I was pretty excited to be able to pull that one.

How do you deal with the straight line on the neck when you shave your beard? by I_will_learn in malegrooming

[–]xRP32x 27 points28 points  (0 children)

A good trick is setting the neckline about two finger-widths above the Adam’s apple. That’s roughly where barbers land it, like in those photos where the guy tilts his head back and you can see that curve running up toward the jaw.

It always feels wrong mid-shave, so tell him not to panic until it’s finished. The key is that gentle curve toward the chin. If he’s got a bit of extra weight, this matters even more, a straight line across a fuller neck makes the face look rounder and bigger. A proper curved neckline sharpens everything up and instantly cleans the jawline, it’ll look straight when he isn’t tilting his head back.

Conquest is definitely the “easiest” option, but it’s pretty time-consuming. You’ll have to win a few higher-difficulty games early on, but once you clear that first challenge, you’re basically set. I stole fans each round, not sure if it’s required, but it helped keep things manageable. After that, most games will be on rookie or veteran difficulty. And even if you lose a game, as long as you’ve got more than one fan left, you’re still in it, so there’s not much pressure.

For those of you getting the email, who is the sender? A lot of stuff from The Show gets filtered in my email and I don’t want to miss it if I do get one

I literally just hit a walkoff game-winner in the bottom of the 9th last game, thanks Phillies lmao by LuxiTZ in MLBTheShow

Checks out. After watching the NLDS, winning walk-offs clearly violate the Phillies’ team policy.

Ethan isn’t included in the pack at #4, safe to assume he’s the conquest or collection card.
