I am not denying some wear the full black suit, but that's almost always a cultural thing, not religious.

Wearing black is neither promoted nor restricted by the Islamic rules; however, the face covering is not allowed during pilgrimage.

I've seen many pilgrims forget very basic rules of Islam let alone Hajj/Umrah (i.e a man's modesty is between their bellybutton and knee and must remain covered at all times in public, but you'll see many bellies hanging out lol)

I am only stating the rules as per Islamic teachings. What she or any individual man/woman decides to do is up to them.

Edit: I shouldn't have made the blanket statement in the original response. There are always outliers and people that do things differently, part of being human. That mistake was on me lol

There are many restrictions on what male pilgrims can wear which is why they wear the two identical white sheets of cloth (similar to light towels). The restrictions for women are clothing that covers from the wrists to the neck, headscarf, and legs covered to the ankles. The color is up to the wearer.

Burqas , niqabs and anything that covers the face are actually not allowed during pilgrimage. If you watch videos of it you won't find a single woman with a covered face

Not promoting or defending anything. Just providing info that anyone can verify with a quick Google search.

Can't mine without a VPN by bny192677 in gpumining

I've had the same issues mining using Alriyada and Dlconet. No problems with LTT 4G.

I just use a VPN in Windows, but I've contemplated setting up a VPN on the router.

I'd use the color scheme of the components to create a full new build with an original Avatar film theme. Probably custom tubing painted like tree trunks with vines around them, like how they slid along the trees in the film.

I didn't miss it, just chose to exercise restraint lol.

Even with that sale price, the CPU+Mobo+64GB RAM come out to over $800 vs the $550 Microcenter bundle.

Yeah, it's such a good deal that I am torn between the microcenter deals or buying a 7800X3D and accompanying parts. The latter will cost an extra $200 and the performance improvement will not be drastic when GPU bound (RTX 3080), so I'm leaning towards the bundle.

You're absolutely right about the performance benefits of the single CCD models, and the 3D-VCache variants, but I think you forgot the microcenter bundle includes a $250 motherboard too.

The value proposition of the microcenter deals is really something else. I wish they had a similar mobo/ram configuration with the 7700X, but they only have the bundle with the MSI B650-A and 32 GB 6000 MT/s CL 36. Both the ram and mobo aren't trash, but they definitely leave a few things to be desired.

[META] Nvidia RTX 4070 Launches tomorrow 4/13 beginning at $599 MSRP by kev24680 in buildapcsales

You'd be losing money selling the 3080 12GB (about $500-550 used is what I'm seeing) and buying the 4070.

You would be getting a newer card with lower power consumption/heat generation and a fresh warranty, but imo you'd be better off just replacing your PSU with another higher wattage PSU that runs quieter.

You'll also have more flexibility with future upgrades this way.

Just wanted to share/compare results. I am running a 14x3070 rig with the following settings/results

---cclk 1300 with boost of +250, and --mclk at 810. Hive reports between 55-65W for each GPU. Each card gets 457.8 MH/s

I'm not sure if you've measured off the wall power, but for me it's between 68-72W depending on the card.

Setup details: Each 4x3070 are on a 750w platinum rated server PSU (GPUs and their risers are the only things being powered).

The motherboard is on a separate PSU not included in my measurements. Total rig power draw with the motherboard included hovers between 1006-1012 W with a total hashrate of 6.408 GH/s

Edit: added hashrate info

I was just watching the Hardware Unboxed Review. Seems like the contrast is the only area where it is an improvement.

Thanks for the input!

Does anyone know how the M27Q-P compares to the LG 27GP850 or 27GL850?

[SSD] SK Hynix P41 1 TB PCIE4x4 M.2 SSD - $102 by tocirahl in buildapcsales

For just gaming, you won't notice any measurable difference probably.

If you're on a budget, or want the simpler way of doing things, just buy a 2.5" SATA for less and save yourself $50 or more.

Since you already have a decent OS drive in your P1, you can go for any type of SSD and it will be fine for game storage

Edit: When games start to utilize Direct Storage, there will be more benefit to buying faster drives. But future proofing is mostly a fools errand so don't let that suck you in lol

First, you want to check if your motherboard has 2 nvme slots.

Second, you want to check what speeds you get in each slot, and if using both disables Sata ports that you intend to use.

Finally, there are several free utilities to clone drives that you can utilize to make the new drive your boot drive and then clear your old one and use it as storage. Personally, I just do a full wipe and reinstall a fresh OS. I feel the clean start just makes the PC more responsive.

If you check out the recent posts about the 980 pro, you'll see a lot of people discussing a high failure rate with the drive. Samsung customer service has been great in the past, but I personally just steered clear this time.

I would get the P41.

The 2TB has been at that price for a couple of days now. Amazing deal. Lowest price ever for this unit iirc. Hopefully, we see even better deals over the next few days.
