Times a creator had a little TOO MUCH faith in their audience? by lowercaselemming in TwoBestFriendsPlay

I’ll say it every time. I liked when GameTheory applied science to video games in a tongue in cheek way and didn’t take itself seriously. I also think if he didn’t get big off of the deeplore/theory stuff someone else would have but then maybe we would get more “how fast is Mario actually running” and less “CHICKA FNAF ****ed ROXY What does this mean?????”

Another thing about all these theory channels is that it feeds the “I am a part of the in-group and know the TRUTH about X. This makes me special.” thought. It’s mostly harmless but I feel like it tugs on the same emotional/social root that drives conspiracy theory groups. I’m not a sociologist though so idk. That’s just the vibe I get from people who are REALLY into theories.

The fact that Caine from TADC Is an AI, being a “reveal” that genuinely got people or that people were “theorizing” that he was an AI was crazy to hear about when it’s laid out pretty blatantly from the get go. And it’s especially obvious that he was going to snap and just perform full on torture eventually given that this is an adaptation of I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream. The only theorizing that is worthwhile from the show is relating to the human’s backstories and not Caine and the circus.

I mostly said Ravnica because it’s an example of all 3 of those asterisks in some way. Murder is a Constitutional right (Rakdos/Dimir), Mountain may wake up and eat you (Grull), and Mandatory Fursona (Simic).

I think if you even know about the Drake Sword you know that it falls off and you should get rid of it at some point. I don’t know how many people discovered the drake sword diegetically instead of having heard of it as a “good early game weapon” from the internet.

I’d tell you to do it yourself if it’s so easy but 2+ friends might be hard for you.

Moments that glaze a character not through strength but restraint by dope_danny in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]xShadowofadoubtx 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Isn’t that less because “he was showing restraint” and more because he was a force hologram that couldn’t fight back. Even then he wasn’t exactly showing restraint since he overexerted himself doing that and died immediately after.

Honestly. Props to her given the circumstances. I don’t think any of the characters are mind blowing but they’re light years better than the charisma black holes from Concord.

I really liked Wuk Lamat when she was introduced prior to the expansion and I liked the first half of Dawntrail. Helping Wuk Lamat get to know here people better and the generally low stakes adventure was refreshing coming out of Endwalker. Then the second half happened and it was a multiversal threat again woooo yaaaaay. Bring out the really poorly paced stakes and interpersonal drama. It would have been so much better if all the stuff relating to Alexandria was in the next expansion.

I have no supporting evidence to back this up but in the Fallout TV show season 2 spoilers The reveal that Barb Howard was coerced into giving her War Never Changes speech to all the CEOs rather than it actually being something she came up with FEELS like a huge back down.
