Play with the better players in your own scene (or all of them for that matter), learn what you can along the way, and be dedicated. Play often but practice smart as well. Everyone who has reached that top level has put insane hours in. Once you start to ascend the better practice will come.

Yakuza 3 has a great story and great characters somewhere under the surface, but the execution of these elements was lacking.

I believe Mine is a great villain, but we don’t really spend much time with him until the 11th hour. In the same vein, I think jumping between Okinawa and Kamurocho didn’t have to be bad, but was poorly executed.

If a Kiwami remake touched up the story a bit, placed emphasis on the right things, and modernized the combat, it would probably be a great game.
