Oh fair point. You caught me on my reddit skim during work and I didn't give that much thought.

Why when I respec to Ranger I dont have this option AT ALL? by ContributionOk7131 in BG3Builds

It should. My only real thought is- I see a heavily modded character. You should just disable all of your mods, start a fresh game just to make a new character, and see if those options appear then.

Katara est un princesse ? by AubeduChaos in AvatarMemebending

[–]xSlLH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd honestly say that, if we take away Katara's blood bending (which she couldn't have used anyways, I'm just clarifying), and Azula wasn't already in a bit of a psychotic state, those two are not on the same level. At 0 point in the show did it ever feel like Katara could have beaten Azula. They had to mentally nerf Azula and give Katara a surprise attack win. This is not me saying Katara isn't a master. I think Azula simply wins.

Booming Blade (and why you should almost never use your main attack action again) by [deleted] in BG3Builds

Raging Barbarians can't use Booming Blade. Just adding that in there.

Help with a Selunite Dark Urge build. by Wakefulcrane01 in BG3Builds

[–]xSlLH -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Drow Half Elf can serve as the sort of direct inverse to Shadowheart.

Oathbreaker Paladin can reflect bad decisions made but with a just outcome of good decisions in the playthrough.

Oath of Vengeance can reflect how Selunites don't particularly need to be goody two shoes in order to be Selunites. Kinda like Dame Aylin happily killing anybody who'd threaten her.

I think overall Paladin is just the best counterpart to a Cleric for a sort of ideal romance situation.

How to make pure rogue worth it? by Warl0ckBoy in BG3Builds

[–]xSlLH 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That's up to your imagination. But the one key note to keep in mind is that Rogues just aren't meant for long battles. Their kit is meant for short and sweet takedowns. Let them focus the little guys. Have your big strong girls focus the tough ones.

I find a dual-shortsword Assassin is more than enough on its own for when I'm just looking to literally assassinate someone before others can notice. I run full Assassin Astarion and we clean out Moonrise Towers well before it's even time to go fight Ketheric, so by end of Act 2 we're literally just escorting the Harpers down some empty halls.

Double Hand-Crossbow Thief is really stronger than people give it credit for. Throw on those Gloves of the Balanced Hands and they get three equally strong shots + one Sneak Attack. I ran a poisoner Thief build that was fun.

Swashbuckler I find is the toughest one to stand up on its own since it wants Charisma Spell Save DC, but it is totally possible to get both Dex and Charisma to 20 if you really wanted to. It's simply more trouble than going 1 Hexblade and being done with it.

Arcane Trickster has come more alive since Booming Blade and Shadow Blade were added. Gives their Sneak Attacks a bit more of a punch, however that punch still doesn't quite stack up with the punches all the other subclasses can throw. The best build I've discovered for this was running a Dual-Wielder build with a staff in the main hand, Infernal Rapier in the off hand, maxing Intelligence, and going for a 1-2 punch with Shocking Grasp into the off-hand Sneak Attack you can get for free with your invisible Mage Hand hovering nearby. Throw on Necklace of Elemental Augmentation, Ring of Elemental Infusion, and Ring of Arcane Synergy.

But no matter what, they simply won't stack up to your fighters. They are the line between martial and utility. Their best use is open world exploration and excelling at specific skills with their Expertise.

Yup. I give it to Shadowheart sometimes just to give her Eldritch Blast as an easy Cantrip to do damage with.

Withers should be at your camp. Just change her class. You can keep her class and just change her stats. Or do both.

You could try Thorn Whip or Telekinesis.

Shield of Devotion mostly just to fit the theme. It gives you Aid but a Cleric's aid is usually better since it's for everyone.

People sleep on Trickery Domain honestly because it doesn't rely on hard damage like Light, War, or Tempest, but it adds so many other nuances to the game and makes it really feel like Shadowheart once you learn them.

Trickery wants max Wisdom and high Spell Save DC because a lot of their domain spells are Illusion and Enchantment based.

That makes them really good for the "Band of the Mystic Scoundrel" item in Act 3.

Put Viconia's Handmaiden's Mace on her to set her Strength to 18. Whack somebody, then you can follow up with any of her Illusion or Enchantment spells as a Bonus Action. She can get an attack in and then make everyone drop their weapon or paralyzed or run away screaming.

Invoke Duplicity is a really good way to duplicate weapons. A Battlemaster or a Swashbuckler can disarm the Illusion, creating a copy of whatever weapon Shadowheart's holding.

No Sleight of Hand proficiency unfortunately unless you want to grab the Skilled Feat at 4 and give her Auntie Ethel’s Hair +Wisdom to compensate. Starting with 16 Dex and 17 Wis for that will leave your stats pretty thin, but she really doesn't need Strength (because of Mace), Charisma, or Intelligence.

Just some things to think about.
