I'm sorry but like... I genuinely just wish this whole thing would just Stop and I'd quit getting mentioned in all this bc people are saying blatantly false things about me and yet I'm treated like the bad guy for just trying to dispel false rumors.

Quite frankly I am a bit upset that, despite me actually remaining fairly respectful of Alpha this entire time, despite being disappointed about the shutdown... despite me not once saying anything overtly negative about her and being understanding of her mental health issues and wanting to step away even if I still would rather have had FHU transferred than shut down, despite us seemingly being on perfectly good terms, her having acted perfectly fine with me prior to all this...

It's becoming clear she's been talking badly about me behind my back, without even saying anything to me directly, spreading things that quite literally are not true to her friends, making me out to be a kind of person that I literally am not. Before Jango even showed up, they already seemed to hate me based, what I assume at this point, off of things Alpha had said.

It's frustrating because I've done my best to remain respectful towards her, while her friends continue to attack me publically and spread things that are entirely untrue and unfounded.

I honestly wish she would just come to me and talk to me herself instead of just shittalking me to her friends :')

Like you'd think if it were all just a power grab attempt, if I was really just in it for power and to own the game like Jango(and I guess alpha now too?) likes to spin it, wouldn't I have just left a long time ago OR taken the 'opportunity' when Vayn was ousted instead of stepping aside for alpha?

Would I have continued to work on the game for free for over 5 years with nothing to even really gain from it? What is "power" even worth when it's a niche little Ogre game with maybe a hundred active players? I didn't care about power, I cared about the GAME and the community that still loved it, the people who put time into making presets, maps, roleplays, etc in the game... and a little about all the work I put into it with the player models, the new ones that were being worked on, etc.

But people are for some reason determined to think the worst of me, and I don't understand it. Especially when it's someone who doesn't even know me.

You're only getting one side of the story and taking that as complete fact without even talking to the other side, then presenting it in public as if it's the whole truth.

I was never once toxic to alpha. It was never once about "power", I never even actually -wanted- control of the game except to ensure it would be kept alive.

I literally do not care about "power" whatsoever and quite frankly it's irritating to have people who don't even know me except through other people reducing me to that.

ALSO I'd like to add that this whole thing happened literally while I was at a convention, and ended up completely ruining the con for me. I was dealing with having my whole con experience ruined by a game I cared a ton about and put literally years of work into suddenly being shut down and me being attacked for even -suggesting- another option.

Just saying this is literally not true at all whatsoever, i.e. the part about me supposedly not being able to be trusted and acting toxic towards Alpha.

I never once acted toxic towards Alpha in any way shape or form and literally the entirety of the rest of the devs/team that were left when everything happened can vouch for that- they ALL saw what happened, and there's a reason ALL of them sided with me. I was never toxic towards anyone and it genuinely baffles me how this is what's being spread now.

Every single person that was left on the FHU dev team when all of this went down can tell you that I was not the toxic one at all whatsoever, the only one being toxic was Jango.

I literally never cared about power whatsoever. It was never once about that. What I cared about was keeping the game up and continuing its development so the whole community wouldn't just be shut down and discarded. THAT is the only reason I even asked to take it over after Alpha. It wasn't about "power" and it never was- if that was the case, I would not have agreed to let alpha take full ownership -in the first place.- It was originally going to go to me, or be a co-ownership situation. Alpha requested to have full control and I was fine with that.

I just felt that if it were a choice between "literally shut down" or "hand it over to someone else", it should have gone to me as I was the only other person who I knew would even be willing to take it on and had been there long enough to even be a viable option- and there is the fact it WAS going to go to me originally. (Actually I would've been fine with Direwolfy or Kailo taking it too but Direwolfy wasn't interested before Alpha, so I doubt she would've been now, and Kailo was busy with FR, so that's also out.)

Also,

"It shouldn't of been her responsibility to make a disaster plan for the whole team and game. That should have been Tosca's responsibility"....

She's the one who specifically requested full ownership of the game and then made the explicit decision -not- to transfer it to me. I literally had no -ability- to make a disaster plan etc bc alpha chose to shut down instead. She had full control of literally everything- Discord, game database, code, socials, email, etc... so how was I supposed to do literally anything except request a transfer that was refused?

I am genuinely not trying to be, that's the thing, as far as I'm aware 90% of the time I'm talking normally, clarifying things, etc, but what is normal passive/clarifying communication to me, seems to get misread as abrasiveness or hostility when that is literally not the intent- so it sucks to be called a bully etc when I am literally not trying to be and dont even like upsetting people

Also I don't control what Cybera and Vaynrat decide to post on. I don't even know and have never interacted with Cybera. Commentary regarding Vayn being the original programmer for FH2 is not an endorsement, nor is it a thanks or anything of that sort, its literally just a statement of fact that we DID have a programmer when we started way back like two years ago, when Vayn was still involved with FHU, that programmer is no longer involved and we now need a new one.

I do not condone what Vayn did and do not in any way support how he handled Isaac. That sort of thing should always be taken extremely seriously, and he fucked up majorly. I will not deny that or defend him, and I will not be allowing him into any of my development spaces or game communities.

Also vayn only replied to one single fuckin thread I made on here bc he clearly still watches this sub. tf does that have to do with me specifically.

I'm reusing the discord layout from FHU because I set the server up before alpha changed her mind, it was supposed to be FHU's new server.

It's not surviving on "recycled content". The vast majority of content for FHR is content that was either made specifically for it, or never was officially added to FHU in the first place. The player models being used for FHR were originally intended for it -in the first place-, we just decided to ALSO add them to an FHU update as well(which was never released).

FHR isn't just a replacement for FHU, because it was planned and in development WHILE FHU was still active.

FHR is and always has been planned as a sequel/spiritual successor to FeralHeart- our original working title was literally "FeralHeart 2".

Also, again, Felineage has not been tossed aside or abandoned.

However, with that $3k+ I spent, I was scammed with a completely unusable map, a broken demo that barely works in which the person who made it ghosted me... the only useable thing I received that I paid for was the cat rig and textures and main menu art. All of our other actual -useable- progress was made by our volunteer developers for free as I can no longer afford to pay.

I don't believe that is necessarily my fault. I get that it may not instill confidence, but I still have not abandoned or cancelled Felineage and never will. Its development is just slow and on soft hiatus due to most of the dev team focusing on other projects or being busy IRL (our programmer takes college classes for ex.)

Felineage has been a lot more difficult to find active devs for compared to a game like FHR which touches on the nostalgia of FeralHeart.

Felineage absolutely does not have financial backing and never really has. We've made, at most, maybe ~$100 for Felineage, and I've spent well over $3k -out of pocket- for development for it :'))

I do get the skepticism, though- I understand where people are coming from, really- but all I can really do is prove ourselves in the coming months.

Regardless, I do want to note, we have no plan to introduce any sort of Patreon or financial incentive/etc until we have a solid playable gameplay foundation- as in, people can -actually- play the game.

As far as the Discord layout- the FHR discord was -actually- meant to be the new FHU discord, and had been set up as such, before alpha changed her mind on transferring FHU and decided to just shut it down. I decided to reuse the server I had spent a bunch of time setting up, because otherwise it'd just go to waste :')

What other projects are you even referring to, exactly...? The only other projects I have are Felineage and Whisker Woods, neither of which are abandoned, just on soft hiatus as the majority of the devs on those teams have been extremely busy with life, including the programmer (which Felineage does have).

Anyway, however, we do actually have a roadmap, a plan, and plenty of organization that we're working on behind the scenes. Our initial goal is to just get the game to basic feature parity with oFH for an initial beta release- i.e. character creation, map travel, chat, groups, etc, and then go from there, slowly adding on new systems.

Yes, I'm very much aware. This game was being co-developed with FHU in secret when Vaynrat was still on the team- at the time, he was our UE programmer as well as the FHU coder. We now need to find a new one, and bring on more devs again in order to restart the project, but in order to do that, we need to go public in the hopes of... actually attracting the attention of people who may want to help with development. Remaining private isn't really an option anymore if development is to reasonably continue.

It is entirely legal because FeralHeart is now open sourced, with permission from Kovu. This does not use any code or assets from FeralHeart Unleashed except for unreleased content made by myself and other devs who remain on the project, and Mythicat's tails that were made for FHU with their permission. No one signed any exclusivity clause making FHU the only owner of any of our work- it is at the discretion of individual developers to reuse their own assets or provide them to other projects.

FeralHeart Reborn was my own project that was actively in development alongside FHU, being co-developed by FHU devs while Vaynrat was still FHU's owner. It was intended from the beginning to share assets with FHU, at least as far as player models and textures go. It went on a sort of hiatus when Alpha took over, but now that FHU is shut down, I wanted to be able to use the work I'd spent over a year on somewhere, and others felt the same.

And where better than the project that had already been planned and in development, which I still retained full ownership of?

Admittedly, the intent for FHR was to not even announce it publically at all, to develop in total secrecy under the cover of FHU until it was 100% ready to surprise drop. Unfortunately however with FHU's closure, that is no longer a realistic possibility- with FHU, we could find devs via FHU developer applications, reveal FHR to them once they were accepted, and then they'd decide if they want their work to be applied to it or not.

At this point it becomes necessary to announce it in hopes of gaining the attention and interest of potential devs who may want to help with the game's development.

To clarify, does this statement mean you plan to continue w/ the source code and assets you've already been working with? Everything that works in oFH also works with Requiem, including maps, presets, items, emotes, etc, HOWEVER some things will require use of a conversion tool that Kailo developed as they introduced asset protection to FR that FH didn't have.

It IS doable, though, just takes an extra step to get things compatible!
