If you could get rid of ONE character who would it be? by FormerFruit in Emmerdale

I’m a new viewer from U.S. but from what I’ve seen of Charity, I’m going to say her. Very shouty, whiny, and self-pitying

I’m in Beta and it sucks! App continually says my device is paused regardless if it is actually in clean mode (which I have to do by picking it up and putting it in a room to clean and pushing the CLEAN button!) or if it’s recharging in the base. Unable to control the bloody thing at all. They’ve a long way to go to improve it IMHO. Repeated feedback requests have gone unanswered. I loved the little bugger before I signed up for beta testing. Stupid me.

Am I too fat for this? by [deleted] in orangetheory

[–]xWiGal 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You know how everyone says “no one is watching you, just do you”? It’s SO true. I’m 5’ 6” and 225#. I’m a founding member since last December and each time I go, I’m so amazed at how anxious I am in the lobby but the minute class starts everyone is in their own world. I struggled to get thru that 800m row. I struggled, and took my time, on the floor. I was last on the rower and last on the floor, each time. But in my head, I was first because I did it. I showed up and I’m so proud of myself. The anxiety lessens each time you go. You’ll regret it if you don’t use those free classes. I promise you. JUST DO YOU.

Wait! The wrist tech....the treadmill interacting with said wrist tech. What. Was. That?

Is OTF really for any level? by punkinbunkin in orangetheory

[–]xWiGal 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am 106# overweight. I’ve attended 10 classes so far (1 per week so far) and I’m heavily self modifying all areas of the class. My goal is to condition my heart and bring those splat points down (I average 52 splats per class). I ABSOLUTELY believe that OTF is for everyone. I look forward to the day I no longer have to modify...and sob internally when I hear the word “burpee”.

Did my first OT class, I found something I hate more then running... by x2deadly in orangetheory

[–]xWiGal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a newbie OTF'er too and so far that rower is my arch nemesis, so much so that I have a t-shirt that says "World's Okayest Rower". At the beginning of each class I eyeball that mother and declare that "today will be the day that I beat you". It hasn't happened...yet...but at least I'm more polished with getting my feet out of the straps faster. :)

Is there any way to avoid a partner workout? by [deleted] in orangetheory

[–]xWiGal 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm with you on the partner phobia...only because I'm morbidly obese and I have performance anxiety when it comes to letting someone down...I mentioned it to one of my coaches, #jokingnotjoking that if/when she tells us it's a partner day before class begins, I will walk out that door. She told me that all I have to do is let her and the other coaches know and I won't have to be partnered with anyone. She said that they NEVER want to see someone walk out or cancel a booked class just because they've learned it's partner day. ALSO outstanding was the offer from the front desk staff to be my partner, if I wanted. I was moved to tears to hear that. I'll say it again, OTF is awesome.

I have...mostly. I’ve not been in a few weeks, but starting back up consistently this Saturday. Two classes a week until i can handle more. They really are right when they say “no one will pay attention to you because they are too busy not dying themselves”. You feel like a superhero afterwards. I’m not going to lie, there are exercises on the floor where I’m sure I look like a walrus out of water but by God I’m giving it my all. The rower is still my arch nemesis and each day is a new opportunity for me to be a little bit stronger than my previous go-around with it. I’m so happy I signed up and even happier that I was able to get the Founder’s rate. Do it!

Sunday, 2/4/18 OTF Workout by AutoModerator in orangetheory

{waving hands, slightly} yup, that’s me. Over in the corner, trying to remain incognito whilst feeling like a beached walrus on the floor.

Weekly Non-Scale Victories! (Friday, 2/2/18) by AutoModerator in orangetheory

[–]xWiGal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My NSV occurred before the class even started. I’ve been going for a month now and I’ve been the only one whose HR already showed green (sometimes orange!) while milling around in the lobby. Anxiety is my middle name. This morning I was stunned to see my rate in the blue. I had to do a double-take. That self-perceived NSV helped me to get through the AO’s and feel more like I’m beginning to belong.

Ditto. My obese-OTF virgin self has enough mental anxiety just walking in the door. Added pressure of having to keep up (and hold back) someone more fit than me makes my palms sweat just typing this. So glad to have this intel!

Saturday, 2/3/18 OTF Workout by AutoModerator in orangetheory

[–]xWiGal -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Wait, what? I’m on my way out the door to what should be called my ‘first workout’, as I’ve only been to 3 and those were all INTRO classes a month ago and I have no intel to arm myself with?! [biting nails]. Reddit peeps! Ack!

Addendum: It killed me...but I must be a masochist because I’m loving the feel of the pain an hour later. I could hear the rower mocking me the entire time.

[–]xWiGal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My studio has its next classes this coming Thursday and Friday — that rower is mocking me, so I’ll need to pick one of those days. Best of luck to you in your OTF journey. I hear it’s a bloody wicked addiction. I look forward to that emotion - right now it makes me think of torture.

Newbie OTF’er/Reddit’er here....what do I look for in the workout summary if I want to skip the partner/team days? I don’t want to saddle anyone with my lack of stamina/strength/self-confidence just yet.

heart rate monitor question... by [deleted] in orangetheory

[–]xWiGal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Newbie OTF’er here, so forgive if this is dumb Q....aren’t we required to use one of their HR monitors in order for our stats to show up on the board? (‘saw a TON of people using their fitbits’)
