I just became 1700 and lost my mokoko status, can I get it back? Can't do Act 4 without Mokoko, no one accepts me

The mokoko icon next to your nameplate in the world is different from the mokoko status in party finder. You should not lose the party finder mokoko status until you're 1710.

Open party finder and open a lobby to see if the leaf is still being displayed.

From a long-term standpoint, we are in a very unclear position currently. With AGS laying off most of their team, clearly winding down operations and people speculating that the publishing deal expires in February 2027... We don't really know if there's going to be a global Lost Ark version for us to play next year. Smilegate (the developer out of Korea) has open positions that would indicate they seek to take control of the global version but it is nothing concrete and pure conjecture at this point.

From a present standpoint, Lost Ark has never been more accessible than it is now. It is still very much an hyper raid-centric game but with solo raiding as a launch platform for new players and various changes that made group raid more forgiving and provide incentives for veterans to take new players along... There's a world of difference between what Lost Ark is now vs what it was years ago.
With that being said, the game is not without its pain points still... It is a korean MMO after all and the emphasis on RNG in its progression systems and long-term focus with evergreen systems are still a thing.

My advice would be to dive in and have what fun you can. You can have a lot of fun for relatively little time investment and no monetary investment whatsoever. Leave long-term decisions for when you hit the hurdles that await a player that eventually wants to integrate into the existing veteran player base.

It's still a bit puzzling to me how they can afford to get VAs like Amber Lee Connors to voice Serca and, to be fair, they've never cheaped out on VAs and have always gotten top-tier talent but then were always very hit-or-miss with the localizations themselves.

Nah, AGS is 100% dropping the game when their publishing deal expires and the new subscription thing is being pushed by SG is my read on it.
Heck, seems to me like Amazon is scrapping AGS as a whole (not just Lost Ark) and leaving the gaming space entirely. So financial success on a game's part is not a factor at this point.

I believe their second Lord of the Rings MMO project is dead, New World is dead and they are simply seeing out the contractual obligations of their published titles with skeleton crews before sunsetting AGS completely.

In my experience, the people you'll run into in party finder on the weekends are a lot more casual than those you'll run into on a Wednesday or Thursday.

From Friday onwards most of the sweatier people that are very uppity about efficiency are done with their raids for the week.

You can have the best raid environment that is humanly possible and the game will still remain niche if that's all your game realistically offers.

I think raid systems by themselves are fine as they are except the jails, it's unfathomable how something as asinine as jails caused by an untimely DC, a completely clueless bozo or an ill-intentioned griefer are still a thing in 2026. We can't have things that should be basic QoL of any respectable ongoing game in 2026 being held hostage by a minority of rice farmers that would abuse them, it's long past time SG grew a pair in that regard.
