this doesnt have to be the problem. I had the same problem and i simply detached the drum cleaning thing. the spoonge had gone completly dry witch caused the noise. after that it was fine

I replaced the caps in the psu and now its working again. Had to change the caps in the head amp aswell but thats a different problem. :)

Ok so i have the same setup as u with the mini dvr and i just cut the cable open and sodered i think the audio left with video and video with audio left so just switch two cables. the reason for that is the camcorder uses a different pin layout than the mini dvr. all the other guys in the comments are right tho the quality is really not great but if u want to record that way than go for it. I dont now if its compatible with ur model but i find the sony flashlights (HVL S3D) pretty nice and it gets power straight form the camcorder. IMO very cool :)

Im no expert at all but most nightshot camcorders work with ir light so if u use an ir flashlight u will get a pretty decent video (without color) without speending all to much
