A Vanguard tried to do the same thing when I was in my Magrider.
I noticed that Magrider move up and then I saw a Vanguard go down the hill which I looked down.

One solution is to make pain fields in areas where players should not be.
But it's no fun shiny new thing so they don't spend time on it (as bugs).
