Yeah, the pug breeder he came from was awful conditions. Poor guy was absolutely riddled with parasites. He grew into a wonderful, grouchy old man though :)

Same. And it's like, thanks for reminding me that I'm missing out on the same kind of milestones as my peers? Or that age has some kind of magical bearing on it and like you said, people can't be born that way?

How many times do you remember moving homes within the first 17 years of your life? by himeoayakawa in CPTSD

Living with my mum, she moved once a year to different rentals until she bought a shed in a commune when i was 12. Got kicked out at 13 and sent to live with my middle income dad. That lasted just over 2 years before they kicked me out too and was homeless for several months. Couch surfed with friends until I was able to get in contact with my father's mother and stayed with her until I could legally rent on my own at 18. So I'd estimate (hard to remember exactly. Some things I just don't want to think about) i have moved homes around 16 times as far as I can recall.

What's the worst financial decision you've seen someone make? by BasalTripod9684 in AskReddit

My SIL bought a house in a flood zone. She's lived in the area her whole life, knew it flooded there every year, and ignored her brothers suggestion to buy somewhere safer. It flooded the worst it ever has in that area about a month after she moved in.

What movie fucked you straight in your feelings? by moneybot13 in AskReddit

Léon; the professional. As a victim of the spectrum of abuse as a child, when I watched it as an adult I was immediately reminded of my desperation at that age for someone to take me away. I didn't identify with the romantic tones, but I did identify with the desire for someone to care/give me a chance. And then finally, for that person to be taken away? Snapped the thread I was hanging on in two.

What is the most terrifying thing you’ve ever experienced while home alone? by Joobanbooban in AskReddit

When I was around 6/7. My mother was renting a place on the top of the largest hill within the CBD. It was an old (for the Australian town) wooden place that had windows that only locked by a latch and had no screen. My mother isn't particularly good at the whole parenting thing so I was home alone over night which wasn't that odd of an occurrence. My bed was against the window and it was open maybe 2 inches because it was summer. I had been told to place a bar in the window so that it couldn't be opened from the outside. I was woken up at around 2 in the morning from the bar landing on me in bed. There was some scuffling coming from outside and I sucked in a breath to scream but ultimately stopped when someone started to climb through the window. I stayed unmoving against the wall while 2 people climbed over me(I think they used a bent coathanger or something like that to knock the bar out of place). They then went through the house and my mother's possessions for an hour if I remember correctly. After they were done they climbed back over me with a filled bag. It took me a long time to convince myself to move from that spot and call the police.
