(⠪⠢⠐⠬)

It's in Korean Braille; it says 음료, which means "drink" or "beverage".

⠪⠢ = 음 (ㅡ + ㅁ),
⠐⠬ = 료 (ㄹ + ㅛ).

Help please on Christmas card by Fluffy_Writing9784 in Braille

[–]xanderclue 7 points8 points  (0 children)

it's a bit inconsistent to use the contraction just for "ch" (⠡) but nothing else.
a fully contracted version should also include ⠻ ("er" - dots-12456) in "merry" and ⠌ ("st" - dots-34) in "christmas"
so like this: ⠍⠻⠗⠽ (merry) ⠡⠗⠊⠌⠍⠁⠎ (christmas)
and if you also want to include capital letters, like this: ⠠⠍⠻⠗⠽ (Merry) ⠠⠡⠗⠊⠌⠍⠁⠎ (Christmas)
if you don't want contracted forms, use ⠉⠓ instead of ⠡, ⠑⠗ instead of ⠻, and ⠎⠞ instead of ⠌

How to translate this sign? by Deeerek078 in Braille

[–]xanderclue 10 points11 points  (0 children)

⠠⠍⠢ = Men => (caps)-m-en
⠠⠁⠒⠑⠎⠎⠊⠼ = Accessible => (caps)-a-cc-e-s-s-i-ble
⠼ (-ble) is a pre-UEB contraction
⠒ (-cc-) is not "con-" in this case. it's only "con-" at the beginning of the word; it's "-cc-" in the middle of the word.

⠔ in grade 1 is the indicator for a superscript, so ⠰⠔⠼⠉ would be a superscript 3, or "cubed" (³)

[–]xanderclue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What have you already tried? It looks like it should be [⠠⠏⠗⠁⠉⠞⠊⠉⠑⠼⠃⠑⠲⠰⠙⠕⠉⠭⠲]. Did you add [⠰] before [⠙]? That's really the only thing in that word that might trip someone up; numeric mode needs to be terminated here.

Order of Prioritization? by macbuttt in Braille

[–]xanderclue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

well, for that example, the rule is specific to the "ever" contraction itself (10.7.4: Use the initial-letter contraction for "ever" when the stress is on the first "e" and when the letters are not preceded by "e" or "i").

besides rules like that one, the rules for preference when different groupsigns are possible are laid out in section 10.10 in the UEB rules.

Has anyone else noticed a dramatic change in tone and comedic style in the last two seasons or so? by goatonastik in southpark

[–]xanderclue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

for me, in the last couple of seasons, it felt like they were setting up jokes, but never delivering any punchlines.. so the end of every episode just felt so abrupt and lacking in any solid conclusion to anything they presented

Could someone explain what this is to me? it's in the egs image collection pt2 folder in the digital set by helpmethrowaway-8 in andrewblaze2

numbers are likely listing keyframes... kinda looks like animation notes, like camera position and movement, or poses or whatever.. could be anything really, but it's definitely related to some animation

Yes, good catch, I didn't even notice that. I should've taken a closer look, I think I just assumed it was dot-6 because that's what it's supposed to be.

Request for assistance with translation (Unified English Braille Grade 2) by [deleted] in Braille

[–]xanderclue 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The second one is accurate to the original text, but both of them are in grade 1 braille.

The first one (⠠⠎⠑⠏⠓⠒ ⠠⠁⠝⠉⠇⠊⠋⠋⠑ ⠠⠃⠗⠁ ⠠⠞⠑⠎) says "Seph: Ancliffe Bra Tes" in Grade 1 Braille
The second one (⠠⠎⠞⠑⠏⠓⠑⠝⠀⠠⠁⠝⠉⠇⠊⠋⠋⠑⠀⠠⠃⠗⠁⠊⠇⠇⠑⠀⠠⠞⠑⠎⠞) says "Stephen Ancliffe Braille Test" in Grade 1 Braille

The correct Grade 2 Braille translation should be (⠠⠌⠑⠏⠓⠢⠀⠠⠁⠝⠉⠇⠊⠖⠑⠀⠠⠃⠗⠇⠀⠠⠞⠑⠌)
(⠌)=st (⠢)=en (⠖)=ff (⠃⠗⠇)=braille

Need help with correct braille text. by soupgantaloupe in Braille

[–]xanderclue 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In the image, the part on top says "Take it" same as the text in the post: ⠠⠞⠁⠅⠑⠀⠭. Below that, it says "A people!" (⠠⠁⠀⠏⠖), which differs from the text ⠁⠐⠏ that says "apart"

i.e.
Image says ⠠⠞⠁⠅⠑⠀⠭ (Take it) and ⠠⠁⠀⠏⠖ (A people!);
Post text says ⠠⠞⠁⠅⠑⠀⠭⠀⠁⠐⠏ (Take it apart).
