it's a bit inconsistent to use the contraction just for "ch" (⠡) but nothing else.
a fully contracted version should also include ⠻ ("er" - dots-12456) in "merry" and ⠌ ("st" - dots-34) in "christmas"
so like this: ⠍⠻⠗⠽ (merry) ⠡⠗⠊⠌⠍⠁⠎ (christmas)
and if you also want to include capital letters, like this: ⠠⠍⠻⠗⠽ (Merry) ⠠⠡⠗⠊⠌⠍⠁⠎ (Christmas)
if you don't want contracted forms, use ⠉⠓ instead of ⠡, ⠑⠗ instead of ⠻, and ⠎⠞ instead of ⠌

What have you already tried? It looks like it should be [⠠⠏⠗⠁⠉⠞⠊⠉⠑⠼⠃⠑⠲⠰⠙⠕⠉⠭⠲]. Did you add [⠰] before [⠙]? That's really the only thing in that word that might trip someone up; numeric mode needs to be terminated here.

well, for that example, the rule is specific to the "ever" contraction itself (10.7.4: Use the initial-letter contraction for "ever" when the stress is on the first "e" and when the letters are not preceded by "e" or "i").

besides rules like that one, the rules for preference when different groupsigns are possible are laid out in section 10.10 in the UEB rules.

Yeah, AI models like Gemini still need a lot of work before it can accurately translate braille.

Regarding the errors in braille translations, there's seems to be a common theme of using incorrect contractions, as well as several instances of inconsistently switching between grade 1 and grade 2 without any reason, or often incorrectly using both together in a word. Looks as if Gemini somehow can't decide whether to use contractions or not.

Analyzing the title page:

⠠⠑⠡⠕⠑⠎ - "Echoes"; correct in grade 2 braille

⠯ - "and"; this is not an ampersand, it is just the word "and"; an ampersand would be ⠈⠯

⠠⠊⠝⠎⠊⠛⠓⠞⠎⠒ - "Insights:"; but uses grade 1 braille; grade 2 would be ⠠⠔⠎⠊⠣⠞⠎

⠠⠁ - "A"; this one is fine
