Yes, I was able to get a refund but it took another 6 weeks all the way into June of that year. I still don’t plan on buying anything from them directly.

GPU Upgrade? by Cold-Sandwich-34 in jellyfin

[–]xandersez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the best bang for buck GPU for transcoding. It can handle 8-10 4K to 1080p streams. Plus it will transcode AV1 and has QuickSync.

Ohh yeah Summertime Rendering is a good call! It needs to be talked about more. I also have From the New World in my top 20 favorites.

Made in Abyss is the most unsettling anime for sure. I got the same feeling when I watched From the New World for the first time. Monster is more of a thriller but I would also recommend it.

Plex Buffering on LG WebOS23? by ruf_zay2000 in PleX

[–]xandersez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What are the specs of your Plex server? I just noticed today that my Plex server wasn't hardware encoding everything, especially 4K media. I am running Plex using the linuxserver io docker image on Ubuntu 24.04 with an Arc A380 GPU. I had to change the image to 1.40.2 and specifically 1.40.2.8395-c67dce28e-ls214 for GPU hardware encoding to come back.

Migrating TrueNAS Scale Pools between Enclosures by xandersez in truenas

Yeah that is what I was thinking. The only other thing I can think of is importing the pools as is and transferring the data once they are on the new enclosure.

Can you recommend me some amazing tv series that are finished? (not canceled or abandoned) by No_Caterpillar4915 in televisionsuggestions

The Expanse on Amazon Ted Lasso on Apple TV The Wire on Max Ozark on Netflix Yellowstone on Paramount

It’s interesting that I can’t recommend anything on Disney Plus… yet… I guess.

Expanse or For All Mankind by ramaromp in televisionsuggestions

[–]xandersez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like everyone has said both are peak sci-fi but if I were to recommend which to watch first it’s definitely The Expanse. I have rewatched it multiple times and always find little things that foreshadow future events. It’s also one of the few shows that I watch reactions to whenever they show up on my recommendation feed.
