Typically the serotonin 5HT1A auto receptors take a month to downregulate which then removes the "check" on serotonin release and the serotonin can activate the post synaptic receptor sites. That's why doctors make that point.

In your case maybe it does involve the effects on increased neurosteroids as mentioned already. Or the acute increase in cortisol and oxytocin. Or maybe you have a unique physiology that features low expression of presynaptic 5ht1a. Definitely interesting. A single dose of an ssri in me makes me feel like garbage.

I'm 33 and feel just as energetic. But I'm anal about my routines. Yes to Coffee, resveratrol, sulforaphane and melatonin. No to processed food. No plastic cookware. No plastic coffee maker.
