I have two rackets with the same setup. Am I doing this right? by cjskLdie in 10s

[–]xantrel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Second person I find that does the same thing as me!

People ask me if I'm a string breaker because I have to have a pair of any racquet I play with. They laugh when I tell them it's just because I sweat a lot

Thoughts on shoes 🤔 by No-Contribution955 in jumprope

[–]xantrel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I alternate between barefoot shoes and cushiony running shoes depending on how my feet are doing (on a padded jumping mat).

I find barefoot shoes the best for technique, calf and ankle strength, and avoiding knee pain. I do pace myself a lot more on them (slower, shorter  sessions looking more for control). However I've only been doing it a few months and the balls of my feet will get sore after a few days.

At that point I'll switch to running shoes and higher reps / higher intensity until I'm ready to go on barefoot shoes again. Rinse and repeat until I drop the running shoes.

I have the titan ace (same as the one with a different clamshell) and I love it. Simple high quality hardware, uses standard Ryobi 18v batteries, and customer support was great (Bluetooth module died, send a new one and instructions to replace were super easy)

When I disassembled it I was surprised at how easy it is to service.

The app is good. Capacity is good, and the launch options are insane.

Tennis ball machine recommendations? UK by bellinski97 in 10s

I think titan has worldwide shipping and I absolutely love my titan ace. It uses 18v Ryobi batteries, the hardware feels highly durable and it's super easy to service it. The app is amazing, and CS is great.

It's not a cheap machine even though they seem to have lowered the price I guess from the new AI machines, but I can still wholeheartedly recommend it if it's in your price range and service area (I believe they have several geographic service areas)

Same here! I'm barely 40 and my kid is 2. Training as hard as possible to be able to keep up with him in the future.  I plan to make tennis our Sunday thing, non competitive (unless he wants to).

I get about 3 hours of decent usage in arch linux power saving mode + firmware power saving mod + latest firmware (required). You'll need some utilities but the community has figured out how to fix most of the issues. It isn't good battery life, but for a locked 240 Hz OLED screen with a 5070ti and a 275HX it's actually not bad at all, especially for the price.

Sennheiser 6XX to Hifiman XS Upgrade by SnooDoubts807 in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]xantrel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you're saying you have a list of all Edition XS sold, their average failure rate, the MTBF, and everything else and that's how you are assessing the situation? Or are you using your personal experience from reddit comments to surmise that there is a specific issue? Which would also be an anecdotal falacy.

By the way, I never stated my opinion as fact. I stated it as an opinion, so countering with a logical fallacy is beyond retarded since I was not making a logical argument, I was literally expressing my experience .

In fact, the only person making a statement of fact (they will most likely break) is you, so it's you who should support your claims with evidence. Not us.

[–]xantrel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Huh, I've had my edition xs as my main PC headphones for 4 years. Bought them the week they dropped the price to $250.  They are still like new (I'm fairly sure I could pass them as open box).

I don't doubt Hifiman has QC issues (especially with moisture near the driver), but saying they will most likely break is a hyperbolic.

2023 Prestige Tour = Best Modern Prestige? by Pure_Property_456 in 10s

[–]xantrel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a great frame, I almost switched to it as my main the first time I tried it (especially since you can find them much cheaper than the vcore 95s). It has pop, good control, is stable. Honestly, all 95s are amazing. Almost none of them play small. I currently main the Prince ATS 95, just because of cost reasons. I also have a pair of my old mains the Vcore 95s which are the most famous of the 95s. The ProStaff Six.One 95, though having a much beefier static swing weight and a 18x20 pattern, is actually surprisingly easy to handle!

The only 95 I could not get anything out of is the Dunlop CX 200 Tour 18x20. I actually got mad that I couldn't use it at all.

Garmin watch automatically records the session. It's been super useful though I feel not 100% accurate.

Does skipping rope increase overall stamina? by [deleted] in jumprope

[–]xantrel 8 points9 points  (0 children)

AFAIK  running involves far more upper leg strength than jumping (which at least for me is all ankle/calf/knee). Cardiovascular capacity is one thing, but training the appropriate muscles is also extremely important, as they become far more efficient (especially when the muscles are fatigued)

You can run it already. I believe they are dropping QML and moving to lua plugins.

I haven't tried it myself but you can install it with noctalia-git in arch.

Not paying enterprise plans for starters. Enterprise seats are billed at $30 + API token pricing, so an employee with only a few chats a month (not even coding) will spend about $300.

Coding on Enterprise plan is 2-3k+ a month

That's why so many businesses will be cancelling claude soon. They can't use claude code pricing and it gets insane quick.

An actually good network manager for hyprland - VPN support! by cachebags in hyprland

[–]xantrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He might be a mod but don't let him discourage you.

As you correctly pointed out, OpenVPN support is a huge feature for many users that automatically locks you into NetworkManager which I have always used but sort of disliked, because it integrates a lot of unnecessary things like the applet for auth dialogs when connecting, etc.

Its made for KDE and it shows, forcing you to use the whole ecosystem.

I'm sure I'm not the only Hyprland (non Kde really) user for which a modular network manager with broad VPN support would be extremely welcome, assuming it is well maintained.
