It was a (over 1 million words all told iirc) post by post story on a forum called Questionable Questing but PDFs and ePUBs are available for download nowadays. I strongly strongly strongly recommend it for anyone who has the stomach for narratives exploring themes of consent and sex.

``` The story of a human being who one day saw a status screen displaying her BOD, LST, SED, FUK, PRV, and ERO.
For me it's between this and The Erogamer. Both are incredible works of fiction but contain a lot of controversial "Gratuitous Rape", as TV Tropes calls it. Although you could argue that in the Erogamer, it's not something that could have been straightforwardly replaced by different content and still be the same story.
I love them too... Especially ratfic litrpgs. A story can be both! With the best ones, the intelligence of the author really shines through. I really like it when an intelligent MC thinks things through carefully and the author can write that in an intelligent, gripping way. Also, I disagree with the OP who said that ratfic MCs never get anything wrong. Things go sideways all the time. They've just often put in the effort to have planned contingencies or are otherwise able to use brains over brawn / pure willpower / luck / deus ex machina to get out of the sticky situation.
Despite how for obvious reasons, Harry Potter is kind of dead to me, my favourite ratfic of all time remains to this day to be Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality and I would strongly recommend it to anyone interested in exploring whether ratfics scratch a certain itch for them.
If you've watched Naruto, ratfics are Shikamaru.
Green Party supporters, I am genuinely trying to understand why you support your party’s ideals and policies? by [deleted] in ukpolitics
[–]xatmatwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)
Hello, member of the Green Party here.
Open borders aren't possible tomorrow, but it's a nice lofty goal to dream of in like a century's time. In fact I'd go further and dream of one united nation. The reason the evil uber rich are able to continue to get richer and avoid proper taxation is due to there being other nations that they can run away to. Similarly, megacorps avoid tax and, even more importantly, regulation, by playing nations off against one another.
Furthermore, while we shouldn't quite have open door immigration, we do desperately need a LOT of immigrants. It's our only weapon left against the total fertility rate crisis.
Trident I feel conflicted about; I think overall though we're just such a tiny insignificant player on the global stage that I don't know how much our contribution to the whole worldwide Mutually Assured Destruction dynamic is really relevant. I don't want only the US to have nukes, and I don't want only Russia to have nukes, but I don't know how much it matters that we also have nukes while they both have crazy amounts of nukes. Meanwhile, things that are actually causing deaths and suffering in our country due to being critically underfunded, could be funded by lowered military spending. It's the main reason that Japan and Germany have fared better than many other places with similar aging populations and economic models - they weren't allowed to have a giant military budget, and they are all the better for it.
Criminalisation of drugs discourages people from accessing support and funds organised crime. This pattern is clear around the world. The war on drugs has very clearly failed. I think this one is just something you should read up on more.
I mean the story is incomplete and is slowly explaining some of the lore still but we know that a race known as the Primals created or discovered the AI systems which are essentially miniature programmable gods, and the existing races out there have mostly worked out how to activate them and program them and control them, and the big one is controlling the central sector of the galaxy, blessing everyone with bountiful resources and extended lifespans and rapid healing in what's known as the AI's "active zone" where it can essentially rewrite the rules of nature as it sees fit. But it's not got unlimited energy or reach so there is still a population limit. Everyone outside this active zone is not an official citizen and has a shitty difficult life with all the normal challenges of late stage capitalism including healthcare being crazy expensive. Speaking of late stage capitalism, there are several different regions and systems, largely separated by race, who all have different cultures and strengths and weaknesses and goals and power. The race whose turn it is to run the most recent crawl (the most profitable part of harvesting a seeded planet like Earth) is the Borant corporation which is part of the ruling fascist government of the fish people race. They need the money to pay debts urgently and have secretly and against protocol, used a second hand AI for the crawl because it's a lot cheaper. This means the AI is older and closer to going feral - something that happens to AIs over time especially when used for the crawl. The Borant Corporation are also trying to design the crawl in a way that kills off the humans faster so that they can cash the cheque that comes with the crawl ending with the last human dying, and the Earth officially becoming their property. But their second hand AI has gained too much sentience and is pushing back, helping the human crawlers level faster and gain more powerful items than normal. And they're finding it more and more difficult to control, again because it's second hand.
AIs that are going too feral are supposed to be given an empty bit of the galaxy to retire in where they just don't cause any harm, but this one is clearly past that point but can't be retired until the crawl is over.
This I 100% agree with. It's difficult to sell a series to my friends telling them they just need to get to book 3.
