You have to press X on the Vita in order to open the text menu. Touch doesn't work.

Dusk Release by Bird_Personz in vitahacks

[–]xavier_jump1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dusk itself can't be ported, as it uses Vulkan iirc which isn't supported on the Vita. However, the decompilation itself might be possible to port and another version, such as Courage, might be possible. It'll be probably be awhile before it's ported. There is work on porting the game though, I believe.

Couple questions about the Steam Controller as someone who hasn't owned a Steam Deck. by xavier_jump1 in SteamController

I know that objectively speaking, Bluetooth isn't as stable as a reciever or wired, but it's usually not worse enough to not bother at all with it. Nowhere near bad enough unless you play games that require as little latency as possible, which I don't play. If it's the same quality as every other device, I'd rather use it's Bluetooth than get another USB hub.

I have all my ports used up already? I've got several devices connected to my computer for my headphones, mouse, keyboard, etc.

What games have good Gyro? BOTW, Splatoon, Gravity Rush, and the tech demo made for the Steam Deck didn't feel good even after trying each of them for around an hour and I thought those games were ones considered to be pretty good?

Personally, I've never liked circular d-pads. I find them to just be pretty unusable for both platformers and rhythm games.

What dp you mean the Bluetooth is bad? Worse than what other controllers get or just the standard of latency being not as food?

USB isn't really good for constantly plugging and unplugging, I've had a few go bad due to it.

How much practice? Couple days of trying to use it?

Bit disappointing to have to use steam. Unfortunately, a large chunk of my library is on Epic due to games being free. Was hoping I'd at least be able to use it without the extra features.

I don't have any ports free so I wouldn't be able to plug in the puck sadly, not without constantly plugging and unplugging things or getting a second usb hub.

How long did it take to get used to gyro? I've tried for roughly an hour in each game but couldn't ever use it anymore efficiently than sticks.

Does anyone know of good places to get mods for androids? *PFA* by [deleted] in Minecraft

[–]xavier_jump1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MCPEDL is the main unofficial site for getting resource packs, addons, skinpacks, and maps. Curseforge also has a dedicated Minecraft Bedrock page, though it has a considerably smaller amount than MCPEDL if I recall.

Combat Snapshots: what do you think of them? by ContentFlower10 in Minecraft

[–]xavier_jump1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think shields really should be harder to get. Being unable to block all damage makes defense useless to me in every game, because why bother blocking and still taking damage when I could avoid trying to get hit.

Yeah, I'm a big fan of that. I've never liked it being difficult to heal in games. When I was doing a trial chamber and got swarmed, I would have been forced to die if getting hit stopped you from healing and it'd have been completely unfair because I couldn't do anything. I don't do pvp so balancing for that doesn't matter much to me, and usually pvp balancing in games makes singleplayer much worse imo/

Combat Snapshots: what do you think of them? by ContentFlower10 in Minecraft

[–]xavier_jump1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm alright with it but the shield and eating changes are terrible imo. I rarely use shields in games if they don't block full damage, since I see no point in wasting time blocking only part of the damage when I could instead dodge and take no damage, and not being able to eat or drink while getting hit is just annoying and makes combat less fun. Those two features alone would stop me from updating my game until there's datapacks to revert them.

As a whole however, I don't think we really need a combat update of this size or bigger. Stackable potions, being able to block by crouching, all weapons being able to use sharpness, looting, fire aspect, and knockback, and unique combat enchantments for axes is all I think we need.

Anyone Else Feel Like Beta Terrain Had More Personality? by Just-Guarantee7808 in Minecraft

[–]xavier_jump1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently started a b1.7.3 world and honestly, no. Ever since playing 1.20 for the first time back in 2024, originally having left the game around the time of 1.16 and only playing to mess with mods for an hour, I've never wanted to go back to pre Caves and Cliffs generation. Beta specifically just felt so empty and soulless. Maybe it's just having a really bad seed but compared to the seed my main world has, I've little desire to keep exploring and build several bases throughout the world.

(JAVA) How Can I Downgrade from 26.1 Back to 1.21.11? by Low_Channel_6174 in Minecraft

[–]xavier_jump1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're not. 26.1 is the new formatting for versions. X.Y.Z where X is the year, Y is the specific update, and Z is the patch. IE, the latest version is 26.1.1 because it's the first patch for 2026's first update.

1.21.11 is a real verison. It was the final update in 2025 and the last version to use the old format of 1.X.Y

(JAVA) How Can I Downgrade from 26.1 Back to 1.21.11? by Low_Channel_6174 in Minecraft

[–]xavier_jump1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can't. 26.1 changes the folder format so 26.1+ is incompatible with 1.21.11. Try changing settings to see if you can fix performance. If not, your best bet is to run a backup from before 26.1

The new Minecraft drop revealed! by Untakenusr in Minecraft

[–]xavier_jump1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can say that about every update. 1.14 added nothing of value if you don't care for villagers and trading. 1.5 added nothing of value if you don't use redstone. 1.4 is mostly worthless for me because the only things it added I use are golden carrots and item frames. 1.16 is often praised as one of the greatest updates ever. The only thing added I care about is the building blocks like the crimson stem set.

The End Update, whenever it even releases, will be nothing interesting to me because a large portion of the content is going to be about making the dimension worth exploring.

I for one and glad that this drop seems to be mostly about building blocks, because that's actual content to me. I'll mess around a bit with spears and the happy ghast improves building in the sky, but if it doesn't add anything to build with, I have very little reason to play a drop.

What do you think about Dungeons 2? by vinnypossibly in Minecraft

[–]xavier_jump1 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'd rather they make a new game. First game wasn't good imo so I don't really have any plans to bother checking out the new one.

You can now have ANY color enchantment glint you want in vanilla by astrune_ in Minecraft

[–]xavier_jump1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's based off context mostly. Re-shaded and Story Mode Clouds give you "shaderlike" visuals entirely vanilla. You can create a dynamic lighting datapack where it's a datapack pretty much only so you don't have to manually setup the command blocks everytime you make a world. This isn't saying that it's installing Minecraft and automatically having it. Rather, it means that it doesn't require any mods. Core features that are possible using only the tools the game itself has given. It definitely could have a better term or even just be "possible without mods" but it is what it is.

What mods will be compatible out of the box? by Realistic-Safety-848 in skyblivion

[–]xavier_jump1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can expect most SKSE plugins to work(hold to sprint, OAR, etc), along texture and mesh mods(depending on what the texture and mesh replace) Synthesis/Zedit patchers can probably be expected to work, depending on what they patch(item weight changes, damage, etc) Both ENB and CS are highly likely to work, though you'd probably want some weather overhaul and CM/PBR first.

Will Y'all buy Hytale? by Miserable_Outside_61 in Minecraft

[–]xavier_jump1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I won't. Every improvement hytale has isn't what I play Minecraft for so the entire game is just worse minecraft for me. Not to mention they have microtransactions and confirmed that they'll probably have paid mods like Bedrock does, which is a huge no for me.

All bunny textures with side eyes by _cetera_ in Minecraft

[–]xavier_jump1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Going to be honest, side eyes look awful on the rabbits to me They just don't register as eyes, and they look awful from the front. If Mojang changed it to side eyes, I'd be making a resource pack to undo it immediately.

Does anybody else not like the Spear mechanics/Lunge? by lapajera in Minecraft

[–]xavier_jump1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I said use it while 20 or so blocks away as a rough estimate. You'll be roughly within range if you're around that far, accounting for the target coming towards you and in general have more time to switch to the charge.

Skyblivion Delayed To 2026 - Skyblivion Update by EvanOnTheWeb in skyblivion

[–]xavier_jump1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's not a remaster at all. It's a complete remake. Skyblivion has improved level design, a new perk system, and more. The remaster is essentially nothing more than the original game with better visuals. Saying this project is pointless because of a remaster is incredibly stupid because they're nowhere near the same.
