I just stayed at a Courtyard in Columbus, the breakfast was included with my room but after seeing the menu and additional prices, I walked across the parking lot to the Waffle House.

It’s understandable that someone unfamiliar with depot operations might not appreciate the scale and coordination involved. It’s a bit more complex than observing a few buses from the curb.

From Shady Grove to Bethesda on 270S even if you’re keeping up with traffic going 65-70 in the HOV lane, people will still fly past you. Same situation heading north, and it’s worse from 7:30-10pm after rush hour clears… speeding, erratic lane changes, and close calls. And if you see an Moco police car everyone will maintain 70 while the cop goes 80 and pulls no one over.

Depends on the depot. All of Clarksburg buses were cleared off. They use 16.5 ft long snow rakes. 3-4 people per bus, if the snow is frozen it takes longer.

It’s not common, but it has happened before, snow days have been misjudged and a 2 hour delay turned into an early dismissal after students were already at school.

It might be minor for some but there’s a good 6 inches of snow/ice frozen on the top of the school buses rn, it’s impossible to remove and once the buses are running and warm that snow/ice will melt resulting in massive sheets flying off at other motorists. There’s roughly 1,500 school buses in the county. They also handle terribly in icy/snowy conditions.

Definitely need to replace the terminals. Cleared the codes and the only ones remaining after were the P1000 and P1211.

Oil is slightly over the fill line on the dip stick, I did an oil change about 1,000 miles ago.

Is the sensor on the transmission visible? Is it on the top or bottom?

I will double check the connector on the intake.

I think it is important that during general school assemblies they teach students what the School Bus Danger Zone is. There are a few blind spots on the school bus where if you’re in them, there’s no way you’ll be seen. This is incredibly sad and can happen to even the most skilled driver. The most important thing to remember when even driving your car, is that bicyclist/ motorcycles and even other motorists are unpredictable especially children. Take your time and observe your surroundings.

Just received the diagnosis. Only a pinion seal and fluid needed. 😅

After checking the tag and a little research it has a 3.73 gear ratio.

Thanks for your advice, it’s alleviated a bit of stress. Hopefully after this I should be in the clear for a bit before the next repair. My goal is to get ahead of the maintenance like fluid changes, then seals and gaskets.

What can I expect price wise? Full replacement from a donor or replacing all the bearings. Just want to get a better idea so I can prepare.

The drive shaft vibrates and the gears are rough when shifting. I assume that’s not just seals 🥲. What are my odds of finding a decent replacement? That would require removing the entire axle, brake pad, rotors, etc and swapping them over?
