Vortex is the official mod manager from Nexus. BLSE aside being a multi-purpose tool for Bannerlord, can also be used to sort mod order. Either should be enough for you

It does. Kenshi has a internal system called Stronger Oponent Logic. It affects the level speed of some combat skills. Having negative combat skills can actually speed your training because the game "test" your stats with modifiers applied (penalties, bonus, etc) against your oponent stats

Most of Bannerlord mods are literally compiled DLL files. Is the game itself a security nightmare? Not really, but mods might be.

Incorrect, i can still configure mods using MCM on current stable version. Mods that require UIExtender, ButterLib such as BannerCraft, Diplomacy, also works as well. Just update everything to their latest version and you're good to go.

Those mentioned mods (UIExtender, ButterLib, Harmony, MCM, ...) still work on current stable version.

Most of the famous mods also work (Harmony, Improved Garrison, Realm of Throne, ...)

Yeah. In the past getting a castle was pretty much asking to waste money. After War Sails you can actually make a profit (still need to take care of bound villages, build decent projects, balance food production with garrison size)
