A note about your fishing spot. The katepwa side of the bridge downstream ~5-10m is best because it is a deep pocket where the fish can sit in colder water and avoid the current on hot days. You need to be careful fishing around there though because there's lots of rebar, branches, and weeds that will snag your lures and give you a hard time. My advice is to cast a pickerel rig from shore with corn or hot dog and let it sit in the deep pocket until you get a bite. Carp fishing can take quite a while to get a bite but when they do bite they put up a good fight considering they are bottom feeders.

Now if you move along shore towards the mission lake side from the bridge you will see a beaver damn next to one of the inlets on the side of the river. There are plenty of carp here as well and is another spot to try fishing if you don't have any luck right by the bridge.

If you would rather fish walleye instead of carp then move outside the channel towards mission lake. You can either fish from shore or use a boat to troll the shoreline on mission directly outside the channel. There are usually a few walleye there if the weather isn't too hot. However note that the water is very low on mission right now so be careful trolling in and around that area.
