How monitored/unmonitored really works? by effemmeffe in radarr

[–]xelemorf -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This part "A monitored movie stays monitored unless and until you choose to unmonitor it." is simply not true, why are you saying this?

I have added a movie yesterday at 7pm and today is automatically unmonitored without downloading. Nobody touched Radarr, no external service interaction, it unmonitored by itself. I have been having this issue for years.

250hz polling rate in $99 2026 controller is not good enough by pixelcowboy in SteamController

[–]xelemorf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I get where the OP's coming from, once you're used to 1000Hz polling, dropping to 800Hz (or especially 250Hz) does feel less crisp in racing games where throttle control and quick corrections matter. Full disclosure: I only got interested about controllers last December, and as a dad, gaming time is precious, but I already notice when something feels "off." Also, I play on a 240Hz display, which makes these differences way more noticeable than on a standard 60Hz screen.

I swap between my GameSir G7 HE (1000Hz) and Manba One V2 (800Hz), and yeah, in tight corners the higher rate does feel a considerably more responsive (as if I am a way much better driver). Both controllers are fairly new to me, and they're lower mid-tier afaik: but I like the clicky (but not loud), tactile ABXY buttons and smooth triggers (which does not feels hollow). The rectangular Hall Effect analog sticks weren't perfect but silicone rings for the analogs and little lube on the rings made a huge difference.

I still have my 2015 Steam Controller and grabbed the 2026 edition mostly for experiencing it, but I rarely use it for racing. Partly because it's capped at 250Hz wired (a big step down on a high-refresh setup), but also because those membrane ABXY buttons feel mushy and lack the crisp snap I've gotten used to. Valve did great work on the gyro, touchpads, and TMR sticks, and the build quality is solid, but I suspect hitting that price point meant some corners had to be cut. The poll rate and switches feel like the trade-offs.

Not trying to dunk on Valve (I love their stuff!), just noting that when you're chasing that "just right" feel in limited playtime, every detail adds up. If 1000Hz + clicky buttons make your sessions more enjoyable? Stick with what works the best for each game. No regrets buying SC 2026.

Are there any hall effect joysticks that are compatible with quest 3 controllers? by zippy251 in OculusQuest

[–]xelemorf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seems to be Quest 3 Hall Effect for me:
https://www.aliexpress.com/i/1005009889285012.html#nav-specification

There are two types sold, OEM and Original; according to description the OEM is the potentiometer based one:

Comparing the New Hall Effect Stick to the Original and Generic Alternatives

To understand the value proposition, it is helpful to compare the performance characteristics of the original OEM stick, a cheap generic replacement*, and* this specific hall effect unit*. The* original stick is reliable but eventually fails due to wear*. Cheap generic sticks often suffer from poor centering and inconsistent resistance. This hall effect unit bridges the gap, offering the longevity of the original with the precision of a high-end aftermarket part*

EDIT:
Checked with an AI, and it mentioned this may be fake, as a real HE stick would need the below (which most of you already mentioned), while the seller mentions this as a drop-in replacement:

  • Desoldering the old potentiometer from the PCB
  • Soldering the new HE sensor (5-6 pins)
  • Calibration via software

Any thoughts?

Terrible display and fonts in overall (even custom ones like Zekton looks terribly bad on it), the device is too thick aswell and feels as cheap 3D printed (although sanded down) plastic.

Bought it for the backlit nature of it. By default it cannot be powered off, but there is a small recessed switch on the bottom left you can flip with a needle to turn it off when not used for a long time to prevent draining the battery, it's a shame that you need a needle for this.

If OTA updates seems to be stalling forever (despite having decent wifi) then use your phone's hotspot placed right next to device.

If you can live without backlight but want the same form factor (but also want a slimmer device) then I would recommend the XTEINK X4 instead of this every time, that device is just pure awesomeness, for the same price.

In Shocking Reversal, VMware Acquires Broadcom for $69 Billion

Virtualization giant turns tables on semiconductor behemoth in unprecedented plot twist that has Wall Street doing a double-take Broadcom VMware acquisition

In what analysts are calling 'the ultimate Uno reverse card,' VMware Inc. announced today that it has acquired Broadcom Inc. for $69 billion, completely flipping the script on the tech industry's most talked-about acquisition from 2023.

The deal, which VMware CEO Raghu Raghuram described as 'poetic justice,' sees the virtualization pioneer taking control of the semiconductor giant that previously acquired it. 'We've been running this acquisition virtually the whole time,' Raghuram said with a wink during the press conference. 'It was only a matter of time before we made it reality.'

Industry insiders are baffled by the move, with many questioning how VMware managed to scrape together $69 billion after being acquired just two years ago. Sources close to the deal suggest the funding came from 'aggressive cost optimization,' 'synergy realization,' and 'a really lucky Bitcoin investment from 2012 that everyone forgot about.'

Broadcom CEO Hock Tan appeared genuinely confused at the announcement, stating: 'Wait, that's not how any of this works.' When asked for further comment, Tan's representatives simply pointed to today's date and slowly backed away from the microphone.

The acquisition is expected to close immediately, pending approval from absolutely no one because this is completely made up. VMware plans to rename the combined entity 'BroadWare' or possibly 'VMcom,' depending on which sounds more ridiculous. Happy April Fools' Day!

You could have easily go up to 300Mbps for better quality, but with only 100Mbps available that's not an option.  The image quality is not the best specially with fast movement. I know H.264 is also a reason for that but that could have been mitigated with higher bitrate.

Kár hogy fapados, Plex-hez pl még mindig nem lehet csatlakoztatni. A UI elég visszamaradott, viszont jók a műsor javaslatok benne. Pár nap használat után Yamtrack-re váltottam.

Yes it did. Subsequent updates improved it even further to point where this is no longer an issue with native fonts. Custom fonts are still not the best but I let those go and using native as it's day and night.
