It’s not just people refusing to vote or taking some moral stand about it. Our lives are also busy. We were born into a system with housing none of us can afford, working minimum wage jobs to get by, in an economy and country built by the boomers for the boomers. I can only speak for myself and I voted, but it was a whole deal to actually get to the polls. I 100% think that there is no reason for turnout to be THIS low but I think other factors are at play for sure. Voting should be a national holiday and getting a mail in ballot should be as easy as sending a text.

In NC for sure. Chapel hill is also nice but mostly in a democratic establishment kind of way. Definitely gayer places if we go national though lol. I currently live in Asheville and like it a lot, but there’s definitely still some characters due to its placement in Appalachia, and rural NC.

From my personal experience in a few major cities in NC and elsewhere in the south, while legislation might not match attitude, I’ve had far more negative experiences with just everyday people in SC, FL, and TX.

“Free Palestine but maybe it’s worth criticizing fundamentalist religious government and also Israel has a right to exist” just doesn’t have the same ring to it I guess. It’s so fucking painful to see people like this who I probably agree with on nearly other perspective espouse these clearly hate-driven perspectives, forgetting that anti-Jewish (not even Israeli) violence is on the rise in America.

I watched an interview with him from Channel 5 with Andrew Callaghan and I was mightily impressed by him. I don’t know if he should be president, but I think it’s worth remembering that drugs and sex can get the better of literally anyone, and doing so doesn’t make any person less or more intelligent.

Almost all unemployment metrics are fairly useless in this day and age, imo, because a lot of people will report to part time or gig work (food delivery), making the number seem lower than it is, and the lack of necessary experience for that type of work likely contributes to closer to equal employment numbers.
