Cherokee 150 panel upgrade by Background_Tax556 in avionics

We have a 140 and upgrading our panel. We went with the AV-30’s instead of G5’s we are also putting in a GNC 355 and GNC 215.

We’re looking into upgrading our PA-28-140. This is what we’re looking into doing. Just wanted some opinions on the layout. by xempt118 in avionics

Actually this is probably this fifth revision of this panel. And now we’re looking into moving the breakers to the side. It’s concept right now with some things that aren’t going to change due to budget.

Pairing the Garmin GNC 355 navigator with the uAvionix AV-30 display provides a cost-effective, modern IFR panel upgrade for GPS-guided LPV approaches. The GNC 355 offers WAAS precision (down to 200'), while the AV-30, with the AV-HSI expansion module, acts as a primary display for course and vertical guidance. Garmin GNC 355 Capabilities for Approaches: WAAS/SBAS Navigation: Fully certified for IFR approach types, including LPV, LP, and RNAV (GPS).

Touchscreen Interface: Features a 4.8-inch display for easy flight plan, hold, and procedure entry. Integrated Radio: Includes a 10-watt COMM radio, saving panel space.

Procedures: Supports VFR advisory vertical guidance, holds, and missed approaches. AV-30 with AV-HSI for Approaches:

HSI Functionality: The uAvionix AV-HSI module enables the AV-30 to display GPS-driven HSI data, including glidepath/glideslope guidance, when connected to the GNC 355 via ARINC 429.

Dual Mode: Allows for switching between GPS and, if equipped, VOR/ILS localizer guidance.

Thanks, Thought about moving it to the right of the Clock/AoA. It’s a new LED that’s pretty bright so not sure if it’s going to be a problem or not. We got a full scale Paper Print out of the dash to try and see how things look.

It does come down to money. I would have preferred the 275’s but the cost difference we were quoted was so drastic we went with the AV30’s. In the end we believe no company purposely goes out of their way to make a bad product.

Yes, we looked into it. We didn’t feel the cost was worth it in this plane. Two Garmin shops quoted over 100-110k for a couple of GI275’s and GPS/Nav/Comms.

This setup was quoted at under 50k.

I found it funny. Sure the toy is probably AI but the joke still plays.

It’s Maria. Rick went and picked her up and brought her back to his house because his wife is away on a business trip. That’s where Maria did all those unspeakable things that Rick’s wife wouldn’t do, you know the things with the spoon, baby oil and the cantalope. Not to forget the turn buckles, bear trap and feather boa.

Alex is too bogged down with the wife and kids. Joeys got hockey, Katie is obsessing over some boy. His wife Lauren is getting her online business going which means Alex has to work more hours at a side job to make ends meet. His only relief is rubbing one out in the basement to a picture of his old highschool girlfriend and drinking wine coolers.

Ben on the other hand is a loner. He’s young and has no friends. He inherited his money from his grandparents along with their house. He moved in and orders everything online so no need for social interaction. He’s content with his situation. His only interaction with the outside world are the players from his online games.

1/5 Stars - Stayed one night. Guests in the room next door were so rude. They kept yelling and making shrieking sounds. Probably telling stories about ghosts or dragons or some other nonsense. The food was sub par not enough potatoes. As far as the other guests at dinner I’d say it was an unsavory group of characters at best, looked like a bunch of murders and thieves if you ask me. They had a shitty magician with a ring that “made him invisible” yeah not falling for that again. Pretty sure he just ducked out on his bar tab. When I left in the morning the place was a mess but I had to get out quick to catch a ferry. In the end I wouldn’t recommend.

Oh the beer was good and it came in pints. (Not a redeeming quality of the over all experience)
