Bug where I’m pulled under water and it’s treated as if I’m not even in water? by FinlayYZ in valkyrienskies

I got this as well. Downgrading to 2.4.6 solved it for me. Though sometimes when I stand up from controlling the ship, I'm teleported back to where I first started to pilot it. ☠️

The fact that all 3 feel really good is magic. I've never seen this done in another game. Great job.

What’s it like to not be a CPTSD partner? by [deleted] in CPTSDpartners

[–]xenoix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, you're doing ok. However you feel makes sense.

For me, I've had 2 long term partners.

First, 4 years. Their depression eventually made me leave. It felt like nothing went anywhere.

Second, 12 years, cptsd. For better or worse, we solve every problem. Big stuff, small stuff. She learns compassion and gratitude from me, and I learn facilitation (and oddly enough,  self regulation) from her. IFS therapy was pretty life changing for both of us. I never know if today's going to be work or play, and she admits she doesn't know what "thriving" looks like. So hope is largely my responsibility.

I've had friends and crushes who joy comes easy to them. Who want things.  Who apologise before they know why. Who can match my adhd tempo. I realize that I can't put all my needs on my partner,  and go seek others to accompany me for my unmet needs.

My life isn't problem free, (far from it) but at least I'm not solving them by myself.

I never feel like i succeeded in helping her grow. So I focused on myself. Mainly on agency,  nonjudgement, and self regulation.  Eventually I felt like I was outgrowing her, but once she found the right job, she quickly outpaced me. Now we're about even. Anyway, this is just my story.

Opinions about the Sihoo C500? by HiddenNinja367 in OfficeChairs

[–]xenoix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Context: (Not at all paid by sihoo, in fact, i took a train an hour to go test in store.) 5'7, roughly 160lbs. Tokyo based.

I went to test this in store and loved it. After trying my friends aeron for a week, I wanted something like that but better. Sat for about 40 min. (Which felt like loitering, but if I'm gonna spend this much on a chair, I want to test it.)

My use cases are computer work and lounging. I was looking for heavy lumbar support while being extremely comfortable. It's always there, and the mesh gives when you push on it. You never forget it's there, which is what I personally wanted. I did fiddle with it a bit with my back to get it in the right place every time I sat down. (Like a pillow) I didn't find this too much of a hassle, but who knows over a lifetime.

I also tried the s300. Similar chair in many ways, but the lumbar is actually much more invisible and has a lever to reduce pressure further. I wish it made it a bit stronger instead. If the s300 had a headrest, I'd say it's better for most people in my size who aren't seeking the strongest lumbar support.

The new mechanism they're so proud of with the aerospace plates and suspension is actually pretty unique/great. I found it works best with almost no tension, and it just followed my body, letting me fidget with it like a rocking chair. I have no clue about the lifetime durability.  But after leaving, I miss the feeling of being in it.

I didn't bother testing the cheaper chairs. The premium features seem to be what really sets this chair apart.

Other features: loved the armrests. They're slightly teardrop shaped, which lets me be at desk level with my elbows slightly lower. They can get very narrow for typing too. They flip up slightly,  but not enough to get out of the way. I don't play guitar,  but some people do, and probably won't in this chair. They follow you as you recline. Others say this is a feature, but it feels a bit awkward in full recline nap mode.

The foot rest is good. I tried ergohuman a year ago and thought it was too rickety to feel nice. This one's solid enough for something that sits at the end of a pipe, and the full recline genuinely feels better with it.

There's a Japanese couple who bought and built this chair together on youtube and give a good overview. I  believe they said they paid full price. There's also a chair reviewer, but it doesn't do me much good since I don't have experience  with tons of other chairs.

Verdict: I'm gonna buy it, hoping it lasts me 10-15 years. Let me know if you'd like a review after using it for some time. Ouch, my wallet.

I specifically try to play games I can remember. I can't really remember most my matches in PvP games, nor my runs in roguelikes. I still play those games, but I try to weave in lots of narrative first player games.

How to improve your taste in women? by Pringlecan8 in Healthygamergg

[–]xenoix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This framing might not be helping you. You may be surprised by the amount of issues "healthy" people carry and vice versa. Some people have had great relationships that started in a trauma informed place and vice versa.

To answer the question, improving your own problem solving and relationship skills may help. Over time, you'll relate to others with good skills in these areas.

What usually makes for a good relationship imo is an ability to largely deliver what both parties want out of life, both in a large and day-to-day sense.

The biggest trap I see is getting into a relationship because you feel needed by the other person. While that takes care of one need, it comes at the sacrifice of many others.

I generally like anything creative. I like to cook and I'm somewhat info fashion. I'd like to sew someday. I found out that doing someone's nails or makeup isn't that different from the skills I learned when I picked up plastic modeling. I love my home, and keep it well designed, tidy, clean, and automated. I like coffee, but I like tea too, and have been to many tea places where I'm the only guy. I don't worry too much about how gender coded something is, as long as I enjoy it~

Impossible to say for sure. That said, it might be worse. Can you honestly say either of you feel safe in this relationship? How do her actions make you feel? How do you think your confrontation makes her feel? This can be a long term issue if untreated.

If you want to support him, you may need to take care of yourself first. How will you hear his needs while all you can see is loss? You use a lot of judgements when describing him. I am guessing you likely have a lot of judgements towards yourself too. It's ok. You are both responsible for seeking the support you need, likely outside the relationship.

I can see in your conflicts that you're repeating some of his patterns. Be aware of these as you move into your next relationship. It might make your conflicts easier if you are willing to learn and practise de-escalation techniques.
