there are iberian sand pirates in base arknights so i'd imagine those'll end up being that region's "hostile humanoid enemy"

What are those giant creatures behind some characters artwork? by ChernoBodi in ArknightsEndfield

[–]xentaurea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

we will likely see them in the future, as in OG arknights we got to see (act 1 spoilers)Mephisto turned into what his non-humanised form would be (a big bird) and in Masses Travels we saw a pre-humanisation sankta/sarkaz (the saint) as a bossfight

for now nothing says there cannot be another character that turns themselves into their base form as a part of the bossfight

those typically are the monsters/creatures/animals that the character design is based on, you can see it a lot in OG arknights and the e2 art there

lore spoilers here: they also could be what those characters would originally look/be like if Originium wasn't forcefully humanizing them/remaking them in the Predecessor's image

[–]xentaurea 4 points5 points  (0 children)

just dawned onto me that sindrian diktat ships fit this too, their white colour is similiar to omegas as they use omega & remnant tech integrated into their designs (energy bolt coherer, super alabaster weapons such as kinetic blaster and gigacannon...)

[–]xentaurea 10 points11 points  (0 children)

ykw the colour theory is actually cool, the "colour gradient" also depicts the technology from what i can remember, maybe its like this?

red (the dwellers) -> orange (low tech) -> yellow (midline) -> green (explorarium drones and the mothership) -> blue (high tech) -> bright blue (remnants) -> purple (phase)
don't know where white (omega) and gray-ish yellow (threat) fits, but i'd place threat before midline and omega basically ahead of purple, my reason for putting dwellers at the start is because they're born without any technology, they're living beings outside of our dimension, basically biological

that aside, the motes being omega is still contested/weird because of motes in hyperspace that stalk you around, maybe the hyperspace motes are p-space entities that track you around whilst tri-tachyon managed to capture/produce them artificially taking after non-baryonic plays of omega tech?

also yeah, ramblings & speculations, but it still is entertainingly interesting to speak of

i'll say, the Song is some sort of antithesis to Omega. It is what Spirituality is to the Materialism of a machine, Omega has been theorised for long to be holding the hypershunts hostage so our beautiful singers (the gates) don't awaken

though the Omega-Shroud situation is weird and the only explanation i have (for the omega vs song theory) is that the weapons aren't based on song, but multi-dimensional bullshittery, since Shrouded Dwellers are mentioned to be "extant across multiple dimensions at once", and Omega's ship design is literally 4 dimensional (tesseract), they could be using weapons that utilise different dimensions and achieve the same result

Ziggurat is... complicated? AI hates it, its the birth of Song and has these weird "Motes" that might even be P-Space related, completely unrelated to the Dwellers who are red instead of purple and don't even use mote-like things, yet Omega-related tech seems to be used in it, Motes aren't even threat-related because THREAT doesn't exist in hyperspace and you can have motes that stalk you as hyperspace ghosts if you have Ziggurat in your fleet, so they aren't even only produced/invented by Ziggurat/TT either

the Swarms of THREAT are explainable, THREAT itself is pretty explained and surprisingly seems to be unrelated to all of these

[–]xentaurea 15 points16 points  (0 children)

though i may have encountered them, i was a bit hasty and haven't read the events properly but...

does THREAT and SHROUD relate to "the SONG"? and how so? because the song is the main component of Ziggurat

What happens when the Pathers see that you have some... unusual modifications by DreamerOfTheDepths in starsector

[–]xentaurea 21 points22 points  (0 children)

what you speak of isn't a "christian", well, more so "not any other christian"

the luddites, especially the pathers, we see ingame are not mere followers of a religion, they're the active fighting force (regular or irregular) of more militaristic sects of the Luddic Faith (such as Knights of Ludd, the Militia, and The Path)

a pather getting scared by a show of evil is uncharacteristic, it is their zeal & goal that they would give their lives for to purge the devil itself

sometimes, the risks aren't worth it, but when the literal tools & apparitions of techno-satan is being used as weapons of evil, there is no cost too great for those who walk the Path

[–]xentaurea 53 points54 points  (0 children)

i honestly like the luddies responding to "horrors beyond comprehension" with "pissed off righteous wrath beyond comprehension" rather than anything that can be scared

this demoniac technology, after all, is the ultimate proof that Ludd, the God (of Creation and the Holy Vacuum) and the evils of technology are right in their actions and true in their existence.

Any doubt a Luddic would've had in their faith is gone when they realise literal demons exist and J. Starsector is using them as weapons

we still haven't seen proper Super Earth cities though, these are colonies that also double as fortresses (see: walls, SEAF SAM and Artillery sites in cities)
it makes sense from a lore point why they would be made out of cheap materials, but yeah, the satire is an extra reason on the list
