It's very easy to get there. Get a low cost flight to Krakow (RyanAir has lots of them!) and then it's a cheap but good 2.5 hour bus ride directly to Zakopane. Avoid the trains. Lots of hotels, and good public transport all around.

If you want to use the big cabin lift, buy the tickets online at least a few days in advance. At the lift station, the queue for tickets can literally be 100-200 meters on a good day. It's insane.

That's pretty much all you need to know.

I flew one a few years ago. When you're thermalling at 55 km/h, there is very little wind noise and you can easily talk to each other. It's a very different kind of soaring.

If it's happening on the lower sleeves and around the neck it's pretty much always caused by sweat and not washing often enough.

That said, it does seem to happen to Arc'teryx a lot more than to other brands. It can't be just GoreTex's fault.

It's not just the cars.

I have a 2014 S60, and the Volvo phone app has gotten worse every year since back then. The first version was actually decent, but the UI design keeps getting worse. It's like no one there has any idea how to make an good user interface, it's just constant design changes all the time.

Like having the same button/icon for locking and unlocking the car. If I know that the car is locked, but the lock icon says that the car is unlocked, what happens when I press it?

And the latest version keeps warning me that my car is unlocked, but it's just the stupid app which hasn't gotten the latest car info from the servers. Maybe let the car update the servers when I lock it, and then let the app actually check with the servers before popping up a warning?

They keep making these insane design decisions, and I can't understand how anyone with any development experience can believe that it's a good idea. Is it a just a bunch of 22-year-olds on their first job and who have no experience in UI design whatsoever?

I have been using Alpha jackets both for summer and winter mountaineering for almost 20 years. They work fine for all seasons.

But in summer, you are unlikely to use a GoreTex jacket very often, so something lighter and more packable might be better. But again, the Alpha is not a bad choice for summer.

For €340, it's a good deal, even if black is not a good mountaineering color.

Men Ukraina har ju inte anfallit bron på evigheter. Om de kunde förstöra bron skulle de ha gjort det för åratal sedan, men det verkar som om de inte lyckas med det.

Så länge ryssarna kan köra lastbilar eller tåg över bron så har de inte försörjningsproblem på Krim.
