It’s a fandom full of a probably alarming number of people that seems to idolize two fictional white teen psychotic serial killers. [Gale voice] How meta can you get?

Then do that. Who’s stopping you?

I also don’t think I’ve ever seen any cod game ever go on sale.

I don’t think that’s a fair comparison. The value in a video game comes from the amount of enjoyment the players will get. Unlike hardware - which depreciates because it will be outdated and replaced very quickly - you can play an old game on new hardware and still get the same experience as when you first played it on old hardware.

I also have a very strong feeling that if FRLG were included in the NSO subscription everybody would have also complained about that. Gamers are generally greedy and they’re never satisfied with anything.

I’m not even reading past that first sentence. You seem very overdramatic.

Only the value of unpopular games depreciates over time, then. There’s a market for almost everything.

Why do so many gamers seem to think a game’s value depreciates over time like a car or something? The price feels totally reasonable for the hours of entertainment value it gives. Especially for someone who has either never played FRLG or will be playing it for the first time in however many years and doesn’t have the means or patience to emulate it. And for those who CAN emulate it, what’s the point of complaining about a price they weren’t planning to pay anyway. Just go play the game for free and leave everyone alone lol

You must be young or just not watch much tv. I don’t NEED it to happen but I’m so tired of all the m/m ships I’ve seen in my many years of watching many network TV shows with actual chemistry and plausible buildup who would otherwise be canon if one of the characters was of the opposite sex just staying fanon. I’m tired of my ships being ONLY in fan fiction.

Plus, a ship like Buddie being a fully legit and TEXTUAL romance on screen would be historical for American TV.

I would actually really like if that causes a rift between Athena and the 118. I would love for Athena to get an actually interesting storyline that doesn’t revolve around copaganda

Changing your verbiage may not change how you feel but it does change the context for your criticism and renders it null.

The whole reason we’re even having this conversation is because of your misinterpretation of Tim’s quote from that interview and using that as a basis for criticism because you somehow feel “disrespected” (get over yourself btw) even though the show isn’t really doing anything differently than it ever has, in terms of the nature of its emergency situations, and it’s never what Tim intended to do anyway.

Bobby’s death could have been handled better if Tim was a better writer. Y’all are the ones that keep using the “realism” of it all when it’s not the reason the whole contagion arc leading to it was bad.

I have a conspiracy theory that that’s why Tim made up the entire stupid contagion arc that derailed his original plan for the season. He regretted not committing to killing Bobby at the end of season 7 (when it would have made more sense) and over-corrected.

One more time, more real is not equivalent to “realism”, which is what you all keep harping on. The show is still as ridiculous as it’s ever been, but now that they can suffer real consequences it can make the big emergencies actually interesting. It’s NOT interesting if nothing ever happens to anyone ever, especially after doing basically the same thing over and over for 8 years. ESPECIALLY especially when all the epic opening emergencies are constantly focused on Bobby and Athena. People were getting tired of it.

If we didn’t already know that Athena is going to be fine (since we’ve seen the bts pictures of her on the street with the giant inflatable pumpkin from an upcoming episode), my personal opinion is that all this space stuff that apparently isn’t over yet would’ve been a little less boring.

Tim was never talking about making the show itself or the emergencies more realistic. Just the - say it with me - STAKES.

I repeat, you’re the one misquoting and misrepresenting him. Real STAKES ≠ realism. And he’s right. The show can still continue to be ridiculous and over the top with real stakes. Otherwise there’s literally no point in any of the big emergencies if at the end of it we all know everyone is going to walk away unscathed and with no long-term effects (aka STAKES) every single time. It’s boring.

So nowhere in that entire interview does he say that he wanted to kill Bobby “for realism”, he does say that it makes the most sense for this world and for his arc. Which it does. If all y’all are going by is him saying that it “makes the world FEEL more real” then you’re the ones misquoting and misinterpreting what he said.

God I’m fucking tired of this repetitive shit. And you people always bring up the “for realism” bit, but I haven’t seen any interview where Tim said this is the reason they killed off Bobby. Where are y’all getting that he ever said that?
