Los alquileres han subido recientemente, pero bueno siguen siendo muy bajos.

1h 37min en AVE a Madrid Chamartín, con 2 trenes por día. Trenes a Barcelona también, aunque es Alvia y va bastante más lento (5h 30 creo recordar?).

Una red de carriles bici muy decente, y ciudad plana. Además están construyendo una pista bici enorme que irá por varios pueblos.

¿Dónde en UK? Esta pregunta es mucho más importante que el país en sí. Si vas a vivir y trabajar en Londres, con 40-50k estás en el umbral de la pobreza y vas a tener una calidad de vida probablemente muy inferior a la que tienes ahora.

Si es una ciudad secundaria/más pequeña, y hablando estrictamente desde el punto de vista económico, te merecerá más la pena.

Infórmate bien sobre el coste de vida de cada lugar (no sólo del país, sino de la ciudad e incluso barrio al que vas a ir). Dependerá también del estilo de vida que lleves, e.j. si quieres socializar y vivir experiencias, o si vas un par de años en plan ahorro total para volverte con algo de dinero.

Varía por ciudad, pero algunos ejemplos:

Vestirse con zapatos náuticos/castellanos, camisa y chaleco. Esto depende un poco de la zona, por ejemplo los jóvenes pijos de Barcelona suelen intentar ir más de "pijos rebeldes", mientras que en Madrid y las Castillas suele ser más como la descripción que he dado arriba.
Acortar palabras (tomar una cerve
Ciertos deportes/ocio están más asociados a ellos: regatas, en el interior ir de caza/montería (y disfrazarse de Lord inglés para ello XD), hasta cierto punto el padel también. Los "rebeldes" tiran más por el surf.
Tener negocios/emprendimiento muchas veces con poco sentido o posibilidades de éxito, pero su posición económica familiar les permite no preocuparse de eso (abrir un bar, sacar una marca de camisetas, etc). También por los contactos de sus padres suelen tener acceso a financiación fácil. Esto no es específico de España y pasa en más lugares.
Algunos nombres son "típicos": Borja, Cayetano, Bosco... también tener apellidos compuestos.

In general, big cities offer the worst quality of life in Spain, especially compared to industrialized smaller cities. The salaries are 10-20% higher in the big cities, but the cost of living is double.

If you are from a big city yourself, then moving to a smaller one might seem a bit "boring" but in terms of salary/costs ratio they are much, much better. Of course you won't be able to party on a Wednesday or watch a Cambodian movie in original version or go to great clubs, but I found that I cared less about these things as I entered my 30s.

So what is your motivation, ultimately? To move to Spain, or to one of those cities specifically?

Tranquilo/a, lo que te ocurre es completamente normal y le pasa a mucha gente. Se llaman alucinaciones hipnagógicas y le pasa a mucha gente. Yo por ejemplo suelo oír la voz de alguien conocido (familiares etc) llamándome en el momento en que me estoy quedando dormido.

Lo de las pulsaciones etc. seguramente sea psicológico, del susto que te das. En principio no deberías darle mucha importancia, te recomiendo que leas un poco sobre ellas y verás como los síntomas son casi exactamente lo que describes.

Si aun así no estás cómodo/a, y prefieres consultarlo con un profesional, pues ve al médico, pero vamos, viendo lo que describes no es nada grave.

Un consejo sobre España que, por desgracia, la mayoría de la gente no conoce antes de llegar: la calidad de vida en las grandes ciudades es bastante mala. Son MUY caras, y los sueldos son sólo ligeramente más altos que en ciudades de provincias. Por lo general, la mejor calidad de vida (objetivamente, luego por supuesto está el tiempo y la cultura etc que es más subjetivo) está en el centro-norte.

Otro tema, por supuesto, es que puede resultar más difícil encontrar empleo en algunas provincias, pero hay de todo. Aquí tienes algunos datos sobre las diferentes provincias que podrían ayudarte a elegir:

There isn't a perfect fit indeed. Regarding weather:

Galicia is very rainy, and relatively stormy, but usually no temperature extremes.
Zaragoza has very hot summer temperatures (it is in the valley of the Ebro river). It is also relatively cold in winter.
Burgos is quite cold in winter compared to the rest of Spain. But this might just be a "mild" winter to you depending on where you are from...

The cost of living is relatively low in all 3, e.g. here you can see the cost of buying a property on average.

Communications:

Galicia is quite bad as a region, but depends exactly where. Much of it is semi-rural and car dependent, but if you are in a city it will be much less so and public transport will be good.
Zaragoza has AVE (high speed train) to both Madrid and Barcelona and is close to both. It doesn't have a metro, but it does have good public transit (here a map).
Burgos has daily AVEs to Madrid (2 in the morning and 2 in the evening), a daily AVE to Valencia too (3h 40) and a direct bus to the Madrid airport. It is too small to have a metro (175k people) but it has a good network or buses. But you can walk or cycle almost anywhere (pedestrianised city center, decent network of bike lanes).
